AB  - The aim of the research was to examine the influence of sowing density on the yield of more maize hybrids of different vegetation lengths in the conditions of southern Serbia (Leskovac). For this purpose, during 2016 and 2017, an experiment was set up with 6 maize hybrids (ZP 434, NS 4023, ZP 555, NS 5051, ZP 666, NS 6030) and 3 sowing densities (71428; 57142 and 47619 plants ha-1). The experiment was set up according to the random block system in 3 repetitions and was processed by the method of analysis of variance. The results are shown as a two-year average and they showed that the average grain yield for all densities, depending on the hybrid, ranged from 9.33 t ha-1 in the hybrid NS 4020 to 11.16 t ha-1 in the hybrid ZP 555. Hybrids of medium and long vegetation period had significantly higher grain yields than hybrids with a shorter vegetation period. The average yield for all hybrids, depending on the sowing density, ranged from 10.06 t ha-1 at the highest sowing density to 10.66 t ha-1 at the medium sowing density. Hybrids with a shorter vegetation period achieved the highest average yields at the highest sowing density, while hybrids with a longer vegetation period had the highest average yields at the lowest sowing densities. The hybrids ZP 555 and NS 6030 had the highest average yields of 11.77 and 11.02 t ha-1 at medium and lower sowing densities, respectively. Based on this, it is recommended to sow hybrids of medium and longer vegetation period in the range of 57142 to 47619 plants ha-1.

Утицај климатских услова године и густине биљака на принос кукуруза

AB  - Принос зрна кукуруза је условљен избором хибрида, климатским условима подручја и степеном
примењене агротехнике. Количина падавина и температуре су од посебног значаја за производњу
кукуруза. Циљ ових истраживања је био да се анализирају приноси различитих хибрида кукуруза
у зависности од густине биљака и повољности године за његову производњу. Истраживања су
изведена током 2016. и 2017. године на територији општине Лесковац. У огледу је било укључено
6 хибрида кукурза (ZP 434, NS 4023, ZP 555, NS 5051, ZP 666, NS 6030) и 3 густине биљака
(71.428; 57.142 и 47.619 биљака/ha). Оглед је постављен по случајном блок систему у 3 понављања.
Утицај године на принос кукуруза био је јако изражен. Разлике у приносу између повољне и
неповољне године, код хибрида краћег периода вегетације, су мање изражене за разлику од
хибрида дужег периода вегетације. Дужина вегетације хибрида утицала је на разлике у приносу
између густина биљака. Тако је код хибрида који имају краћу вегетацију (ZP 434 и NS 4023),
највећи просечан принос био у највећим густинама, док код хибрида средње дужине вегетације
(ZP 555 и NS 5051) нису постојале статистички значајне разлике у просечном приносу између
густина биљака. Код хибрида дужег периода вегетације (ZP 666 и NS 6030) највећи приноси су
остварени у најмањим и средњим густинама и они су били значајно већи него просечни приноси
остварени у највећим густинама. Уколико се кукуруз гаји у сувом ратарењу, за препоруку је
сејати неколико хибрида различите дужине вегетације и густину биљака прилагодити хибриду,
како би производња била сигурнија.
AB  - Prinos zrna kukuruza je uslovljen izborom hibrida, klimatskim uslovima područja i stepenom primenjene agrotehnike. Količina padavina i temperature su od posebnog značaja za proizvodnju kukuruza. Cilj ovih istraživanja je bio da se analiziraju prinosi različitih hibrida kukuruza u zavisnosti od gustine biljaka i povoljnosti godine za njegovu proizvodnju. Istraživanja su izvedena tokom 2016. i 2017. godine na teritoriji opštine Leskovac. U ogledu je bilo uključeno 6 hibrida kukurza (ZP 434, NS 4023, ZP 555, NS 5051, ZP 666, NS 6030) i 3 gustine biljaka (71.428; 57.142 i 47.619 biljaka/ha). Ogled je postavljen po slučajnom blok sistemu u 3 ponavljanja. Uticaj godine na prinos kukuruza bio je jako izražen. Razlike u prinosu između povoljne i nepovoljne godine, kod hibrida kraćeg perioda vegetacije, su manje izražene za razliku od hibrida dužeg perioda vegetacije. Dužina vegetacije hibrida uticala je na razlike u prinosu između gustina biljaka. Tako je kod hibrida koji imaju kraću vegetaciju (ZP 434 i NS 4023), najveći prosečan prinos bio u najvećim gustinama, dok kod hibrida srednje dužine vegetacije (ZP 555 i NS 5051) nisu postojale statistički značajne razlike u prosečnom prinosu između gustina biljaka. Kod hibrida dužeg perioda vegetacije (ZP 666 i NS 6030) najveći prinosi su ostvareni u najmanjim i srednjim gustinama i oni su bili značajno veći nego prosečni prinosi ostvareni u najvećim gustinama. Ukoliko se kukuruz gaji u suvom ratarenju, za preporuku je sejati nekoliko hibrida različite dužine vegetacije i gustinu biljaka prilagoditi hibridu, kako bi proizvodnja bila sigurnija.
AB  - The yield of maize grains is affected by the choice of hybrid, the climatic conditions of the area, and
the degree of applied agricultural technology. Rainfall and temperature are of particular importance
for maize production. These researches aimed to analyze the yields of different maize hybrids depending
on the plant density and the favorable year for its production. These researches were carried out in
2016 and 2017 on the territory of the municipality of Leskovac. The experiment included 6 maize
hybrids (ZP 434, NS 4023, ZP 555, NS 5051, ZP 666, NS 6030) and 3 plant densities (71428; 57142
and 47619 plants ha-1). The experiment was set up according to the randomized block system in 3
replications. The influence of the year on the maize yield was very pronounced. Differences in yield
between favorable and unfavorable years, regarding hybrids with a shorter vegetation period, are less
pronounced than in cases of hybrids with a longer vegetation period. The length of the growing season
of hybrids influenced the differences in yield when different plant densities were in question. Thus, in
hybrids with shorter vegetation (ZP 434 and NS 4023), the highest average yield was in the case of
the highest densities, while in hybrids with medium vegetation length (ZP 555 and NS 5051), there
were no statistically significant differences in average yield between plant densities. Hybrids with a
longer vegetation period (ZP 666 and NS 6030) achieved the highest yields in the lowest and medium
densities and they were significantly higher than the average yields achieved in the highest plant
densities. If maize is grown in dry farming, it is recommended to sow several hybrids of different
vegetation lengths and adjust the plant density to the hybrid, so that production is safer.

Primena AMMI modela u selekciji dvoredih ječmova

AB  - Interakcija genotipa i spoljašnje sredine (GEI) je kompleksan problem koji
komplikuje proces selekcije i oplemenjivanja ratarskih kultura te je stoga važno
utvrditi njenu značajnost i iskoristiti njene pozitivne karakteristike. U radu je analiziran
prinos zrna dvadeset genotipova ozimog dvoredog ječma u šest spoljašnjih
sredina (dve vegetacione sezone na tri lokaliteta). Za analizu interakcije korišćen je
linearni mešoviti model i model glavnih efekata i višestruke interakcije (AMMI) sa
AMMI1 biplot prikazom. Utvrđena je visoka statistička značajnost interakcije dok je
AMMI1 model objasnio 40.1% varijacije interakcije. Stabilnost genotipova određena
je parametrima stabilnosti AMMI modela (AMMI1, AMMI2 i ASV) i utvrđena je
značajna korelacija rangova genotipova između njih. Prinos nije pokazao značajnu
korelaciju ni sa jednim parametrom. Na osnovu Genotip Selekcionog Indeksa
(GSI), genotipovi J-82, J-103, NS-589 i J-176 su izdvojeni kao široko adaptabilni
i superiorni u pogledu prinosa i stabilnosti što je potvrđeno i biplot prikazom.
Genotipovi koji su na osnovu AMMI1 procenjenih vrednosti prinosa preporučeni
za svaki od lokaliteta su najprinosniji NS-525, NS-593, J-176, NS-589, J-103 i J-82.
Razlike u interakcijskom efektu između godina (Zemun Polje i Zaječar) kao i slab
diskriminatorski efekat (Kragujevac) ne izdvajaju ni jedan lokalitet kao pogodnu
test lokaciju. Winner pristupom, sve ispitivane sredine možemo smatrati kao jednu
mega-sredinu što ukazuje da u ogledu dominiraju nepredvidive interakcije što specifične
adaptacije čini manje značajnim. AMMI1 model je pouzdan i informativan u
interpretaciji interakcije i ništa se značajno neće promeniti ako se druga interakcijska
komponenta naknadno uključi. Izdvojene su neke inbred linije ječma što ovaj model
čini pogodnim u selekciji perspektivnih genotipova.
AB  - Genotype by environment interaction (GEI) is a complex problem which complicates
the selection and breeding process of field crops, and therefore it is important
to determine the significance and take advantage of GEI. The paper analyzed the
grain yield of twenty genotypes of winter two-row barley in six environments (two
growing seasons in three localities). A linear mixed model and additive main effects
and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) model with AMMI1 biplot display were
used for interaction analysis. High statistical significance GEI was determined and
AMMI1 model was explain 47% of interaction. The stability of the genotypes was
estimated by different AMMI stability parameters (AMMI1, AMMI2 and ASV) and
a significant correlation was established between them. Grain yield and stability were
not related. Genotypes J-82, J-103, NS-589 and J-176 were selected as superior and
wide adaptability using Genotype Selection Index (GSI). They highlight as stable and
high yielding which was agreement with results of biplot analysis. On based AMMI1
estimates of grain yield, the genotypes recommended in each of the localities were the
most yielding NS-525, NS-593, J-176, NS-589, J-103and J-82. The difference in the
interaction effect by year (Zemun Polje and Zaječar) and weak discriminating effect
(Kragujevac) does not sepatare any suitable test location. By winner approach, all the
examined environments can be considered as one mega-environment, which indicates
that unpredictable interactions dominate in this research, due to which specific
adaptations were not of high importance. AMMI1 model is reliable and informative
in the interpretation of the GEI which indicates that essentially nothing happens when
the second interaction axis is subsequently included. Some inbred lines of barley have
stood out, which makes this model suitable for the selection of perspective genotypes.

značajna korelacija rangova genotipova između njih. Prinos nije pokazao značajnu
korelaciju ni sa jednim parametrom. Na osnovu Genotip Selekcionog Indeksa
(GSI), genotipovi J-82, J-103, NS-589 i J-176 su izdvojeni kao široko adaptabilni
i superiorni u pogledu prinosa i stabilnosti što je potvrđeno i biplot prikazom.
Genotipovi koji su na osnovu AMMI1 procenjenih vrednosti prinosa preporučeni
za svaki od lokaliteta su najprinosniji NS-525, NS-593, J-176, NS-589, J-103 i J-82.
Razlike u interakcijskom efektu između godina (Zemun Polje i Zaječar) kao i slab
diskriminatorski efekat (Kragujevac) ne izdvajaju ni jedan lokalitet kao pogodnu
test lokaciju. Winner pristupom, sve ispitivane sredine možemo smatrati kao jednu
mega-sredinu što ukazuje da u ogledu dominiraju nepredvidive interakcije što specifične
adaptacije čini manje značajnim. AMMI1 model je pouzdan i informativan u
interpretaciji interakcije i ništa se značajno neće promeniti ako se druga interakcijska
komponenta naknadno uključi. Izdvojene su neke inbred linije ječma što ovaj model
čini pogodnim u selekciji perspektivnih genotipova., Genotype by environment interaction (GEI) is a complex problem which complicates
the selection and breeding process of field crops, and therefore it is important
to determine the significance and take advantage of GEI. The paper analyzed the
grain yield of twenty genotypes of winter two-row barley in six environments (two
growing seasons in three localities). A linear mixed model and additive main effects
and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) model with AMMI1 biplot display were
used for interaction analysis. High statistical significance GEI was determined and
AMMI1 model was explain 47% of interaction. The stability of the genotypes was
estimated by different AMMI stability parameters (AMMI1, AMMI2 and ASV) and
a significant correlation was established between them. Grain yield and stability were
not related. Genotypes J-82, J-103, NS-589 and J-176 were selected as superior and
wide adaptability using Genotype Selection Index (GSI). They highlight as stable and
high yielding which was agreement with results of biplot analysis. On based AMMI1
estimates of grain yield, the genotypes recommended in each of the localities were the
most yielding NS-525, NS-593, J-176, NS-589, J-103and J-82. The difference in the
interaction effect by year (Zemun Polje and Zaječar) and weak discriminating effect
(Kragujevac) does not sepatare any suitable test location. By winner approach, all the
examined environments can be considered as one mega-environment, which indicates
that unpredictable interactions dominate in this research, due to which specific
adaptations were not of high importance. AMMI1 model is reliable and informative
in the interpretation of the GEI which indicates that essentially nothing happens when
the second interaction axis is subsequently included. Some inbred lines of barley have
stood out, which makes this model suitable for the selection of perspective genotypes.",

AB  - Precipitation and temperatures are of particular importance for maize production. The aim of these studies was to analyze the yields of different maize hybrids in years that were both favorable and unfavorable for their production. Thus, the yield of maize in 2020 and 2021 was analyzed in the area of Southern Serbia (Leskovac). The year 2020 can be considered favorable for the production of maize, primarily due to the amount of precipitation during the vegetation (436 mm) and its proper distribution in the summer months. The year 2021 can be considered unfavorable for the production of maize, which is especially evident by the small amount of precipitation during the growing season (219 mm). The influence of the year, especially the climatic conditions of the year, was very pronounced. Thus, the average yield in 2021 was lower by 36% compared to 2020. The influence of hybrids on yield was pronounced, and differences in yield were statistically very significant. Hybrids with a shorter vegetation period had good yields in the unfavorable (dry) year, all due to the earlier passing of silking, fertilization, and grain formation phases. In years favorable for maize production, such as 2020, hybrids with a longer vegetation period showed their genetic potential for yield and were more dominant than hybrids with a shorter vegetation period. If maize is grown on dry soil, it is recommended to sow more hybrids of different vegetation lengths, for safer production.

AB  - Soil fertility is a combination of mineral and biological properties of
soil and the circulation of plant nutrients in the soil-plant system is constantly
happening within it. In order for the root system to develop and function normally,
it is necessary that there is enough oxygen in the soil. Only well-drained soils
provide enough oxygen and good activity of microorganisms. Since most of the
operations, from sowing to harvest, are performed with the help of heavy
mechanization, soil compaction occurs and its structure deteriorates. Within
compacted soil, there is a weaker development of the root system, weaker
microbiological activity, slowing down the absorption of water and nutrients,
thus slowing down the growth of plants. Growing plants on such soils result in
reduced yields and increased production costs. The aim of this study was to
determine the impact of manure and mineral fertilizers on soil compaction and
maize yield. The experiment was performed on the territory of the municipality of
Leskovac on smonica soil type. The experiment included four variants of
fertilization with organic and mineral fertilizers. Compaction was measured after
sowing and after maize harvest, by penetrologger Eijkelkamp hardware version
6.0, software version 6.03. The application of manure in combination with
mineral fertilizers significantly reduced soil compaction. The greatest
compaction was recorded at a depth of 40-50 cm, after which it stagnated and
slightly decreased to a depth of 80 cm. The average compaction measured after
harvest was 24.10% higher than that measured after sowing. The soil moisture
content was higher on plots with manure and mineral fertilizers than on nonfertilized
plots. Maize yield was significantly higher in variants where manure was used together with mineral fertilizers compared to variants with the only use
of mineral fertilizers and variants without fertilizers. Variants with the lowest soil
compaction achieved the highest yields. The recommendation to maize producers
is to apply more organic matter on heavy and compacted soils, primarily manure,
but also mineral fertilizers, in order to have high and stable yields.

Potrebno je u oplemenjivanju stvoriti sorte pšenice sa poželjnom kompozicijom glutena, polisaharida, skroba, koje će se koristiti za proizvodnju hrane  bezbedne za zdravlje i da komercijalna proizvodnja obezbedi da, proizvodi budu, po kvalitetu, ceni i snabdevenosti, dostupni i pristupačni za korisnike.

Today, refined white flour is most often used to obtain products, the excessive use of which in humans can cause obesity, allergies, intolerance and diseases of the intestinal tract. Possible risks to human health impose the task of improving the quality of protein and carbohydrates. It is necessary to create wheat varieties with the desired composition of gluten, polysaccharides, starch, which will be used for the production of food safe for health. Also, that commercial production to ensures that products are available ensures that products are available at quality and cost and are affordable to users.

Influence of mineral fertilizers and zeolites application on the yield of some wheat varieties

AB  - Zeolite is well known for the improvement of the structure of the soil due to the fact that it reduces its acidity, which is of high importance for agricultural production that takes place on soils with low pH values. It has shown exceptional results in improving soil characteristics, thus increasing the yield and quality of cultivated plants. The aim of our study was to determine the yield and some qualitative properties of numerous wheat varieties, depending on the mineral fertilizers and zeolites application. The experiments were performed in 2018/19 and 2019/20, in the area of Southern Serbia (Bojnik). The research involved 4 wheat varieties and 4 variants of fertilization, including mineral fertilizers and zeolite. The research results demonstrated that there were no major differences in the 1000 grains weight, regardless of the variety of wheat or variant of fertilization. The hectoliter grain weight of the wheat variant which was treated with the combination of mineral fertilizers and a higher dose of zeolite was considerably higher than the control variant weight. All fertilization variants had a significantly higher grain yield compared to the control variant. The variant on which the combination of mineral fertilizers and a higher dose of zeolite were applied achieved a significantly higher grain yield compared to the variant with mineral fertilizers. The application of zeolite in combination with mineral fertilizers increased the wheat yield as compared to those that were treated with mineral fertilizers alone, by an average of 370 kg ha-1. In addition to the selection of varieties (Pobeda and Nikol), the application of a combination of mineral fertilizers and zeolites proved to be effective for growing wheat on acidic soils in southern Serbia.

The research involved 4 wheat varieties and 4 variants of fertilization, including mineral fertilizers and zeolite. The research results demonstrated that there were no major differences in the 1000 grains weight, regardless of the variety of wheat or variant of fertilization. The hectoliter grain weight of the wheat variant which was treated with the combination of mineral fertilizers and a higher dose of zeolite was considerably higher than the control variant weight. All fertilization variants had a significantly higher grain yield compared to the control variant. The variant on which the combination of mineral fertilizers and a higher dose of zeolite were applied achieved a significantly higher grain yield compared to the variant with mineral fertilizers. The application of zeolite in combination with mineral fertilizers increased the wheat yield as compared to those that were treated with mineral fertilizers alone, by an average of 370 kg ha-1. In addition to the selection of varieties (Pobeda and Nikol), the application of a combination of mineral fertilizers and zeolites proved to be effective for growing wheat on acidic soils in southern Serbia.",

AB  - Grain spike index indicate wheat productivity and can be used as criterion in wheat selection in
the wheat breeding program. Aim of this investigation is study of variability of grain spike index
in wheat cultivars grown under different environmental condition. Ten genetically divergent
winter wheat cultivars were included in two year investigation in field experiment in randomized
block design in three replications. The seeds of varieties were sown at the distance of 0.10 m in
rows of 1.0 m length with the distance of 0.2 m. For analysis of grain spike index determined in
proportion of grain mass spike-1/mass of spike, 60 plants in full maturity stage (20 plants per
replication) were used. On the base of analysis of variance by using MSTAT C (5.0 version) and
computed F-test values, differences among cultivars according to value of grain mass spike-1,
mass of spike and also, spike harvest index were established. In the first year the highest spike
harvest index was 0.82 (Fortuna) and the lowest 0.76 in Ljubičevka, with average for all
varieties 0.79, while in the second year the highest spike index was 0.83 in Somborka, and the
lowest 0.77 in Ljubičevka, with average value 0.80. The different values of spike harvest index
indicate response of genotypes to environmental factors as well as interaction of
genotype/environment.

AB  - Црни лук спада у ред економски најзначајнијег поврћа које се гаји
како у Србији тако и на светском нивоу. Дијаметар свежих луковица
црног лука спада у ред његових најважнијих агрономских особина
због тога што директно утиче на принос и облик. Обе наведене
особине имају изузетно важан како биолошки тако и економски
значај. Како бисе утврдила генетска детерминисаност дијаметра
луковице, постављен је оглед по случајном блок систему у пет
понављања, на огледном пољу Института за повртарство. Примењен
је метод диалелног укрштања без реципрочног.
Генетичком анализом комбинационих способности испитиваних
генотипова у овом експерименту, утврђено је постојање
сигнификантне вредности за опште комбинационе способности
(ОКС). Израчунате вредности за ОКС указују на преовлађујући
утицај адитивних гена у наслеђивању дијаметра луковица црног
лука, што значи да супериорне линије могу бити искоришћене у
оплемењивачким програмима за повећање фреквенције жељених
алела са адитивним ефектом.
AB  - Onion (Allium cepa L.) is among the economically most significant
vegetable grown all over the world. Diameter of the fresh onion bulb is an
important agronomic trait. It directly impacts the yield and the shape of
bulbs. Both traits, the yield and the shape, are important biologically and
economically. In order to establish genetic determination of onion bulb
diameter, the trial has been set in random block system with five
replications, in the experimental field of the Institute of Vegetables, with
diallel crossing without reciprocal.
Genetic analysis of combining abilities of researched genotypes
proved significant General combining ability (GCA) values. The
calculated values for GCA point at prevailing impact of additive genes in
inheriting onion bulb diameter, which means that superior lines can be
used in breeding programmes in order to increase the frequency of
desirable alleles with additive effect.

AB  - The stem height of wheat has impact on grain yield. Variability of height of wheat stem
depends from environment and genetic structure of varieties. The aim of this study was
estimation of impact of genetic components and environmental conditions on variability of
stem height in 10 genetically divergent wheat varieties. The experiment was set up as a
randomised block design in three replications. Obtained results indicated differences in
average values of stem height among tested wheat varieties in each year of experiment. In the
first year of study, the least stem height had Danica variety (44.87 cm) and the highest stem
height had wheat variety Ljubičevka (64.73 cm. In the second year stem height varied
between 64.37 cm in Danica variety and 87.97 cm in Šumadija variety. In average for all
varieties the height of stem was higher in the second year than in the first year of experiment.
Also, in average the value of height of stem was higher in second year than in the first year, in
all analysed wheat varieties. The highest height of stem, expressed Šumadija variety in
average (87.97 cm) in the second year. The least value of stem height (44.87 cm) in average
had Danica variety in the first year of experiment. Based on the results significant differences
between the wheat varieties according to stem height was established and impact of genetic
factors prevailing compare to impact of environmental factors.

out at the optimum time so that the sowing must be done in the delayed sowing
period. The aim of our research was to determine the yield and some qualitative
components of several wheat varieties sown at the optimum time and in the delayed
sowing time. The experiments were carried out in 2016/17 and 2017/18, in the area
of Southern Serbia (Leskovac) with 5 wheat varieties (Opsesija, Avenue, Sosthene,
Farinelli, and Darija), under the same agro-ecological conditions on alluvium soil.
Sowing in 2016/17 was done on October 30th, and in 2017/18 on December 8th.
According to the results of the experiments, it can be concluded that the grain
moisture, 1000 grain weight, and hectolitre weight did not differ significantly
between sowing terms, while there were significant differences among the varieties.
The grain yield varied significantly, both depending on the sowing term and the
wheat variety. The average decrease in yield in the delayed term compared to the
optimal term was 24.8%. Thus, in the optimal term sowing varieties Avenue and
Farinelli had the highest yields (7,760 and 7,170 kg ha-1), while in the delayed time
sowing varieties Darija and Avenue had the highest yields (5,370 and 5,290 kg ha-1).
The Darija variety had the least decrease in yield in the delayed sowing time, so we
can recommend it for sowing in this area in the delayed term.

AB  - The objectives of this study were to investigate: (1) the effects of cultivar, environment, and
their interactions on the grain yield, test weight and 1000 kernel weight of winter triticale, and
(2) the correlations between these traits in different environments. Based on the grain results
during a three-year investigation with two cultivars, it can be concluded that the grain yield of
triticale significantly varied across years, from 4.251 t/ha in 2010/11 to 5.791 t/ha in 2012/13 in
the study.
The investigated period clearly indicates that highly significant effect of year was found on
grain yield, test weight and 1000 kernel weight. Furthermore, test weight was highly significant
regarding the interaction of the year and cultivar and significant for 1000 kernel weight.
Environmental conditions have had a significant effect on grain yield and quality in triticale.
Grain yield shows a tendency to increase in the years having a higher total amount and better
distribution of rainfall during critical plant development stages.
AB  - Ciljevi ove studije bili su istražiti: (1) uticaje sorte, životne sredine i njihove interakcije na
prinos zrna, hektolitarsku masu i masu 1000 zrna kod ozimog tritikalea i (2) povezanost tih
osobina u različitim vegetacionim sezonama. Na osnovu dobijenih rezultata, tokom trogodišnjeg
istraživanja dve sorte tritikalea, može se zaključiti da je prinos zrna tokom godina značajno
varirao od 4.251 t/ha u 2010/11 do 5.791 t/ha u 2012/13. Analizom varijanse ustanovljen je
izuzetno značajan uticaj godine na prinos zrna, masu 1000 zrna i hektolitarsku masu. Štaviše,
hektolitarska masa bila je vrlo značajna i značajna za masu 1000 zrna kod interakcije godina x
sorta.
Uslovi životne sredine su imali značajan uticaj na prinos zrna i kvalitet tritikalea. Prinos
zrna pokazuje tendenciju rasta u godinama koje imaju veću ukupnu količinu i bolju raspodelu
padavina tokom kritičnih faza razvoja biljaka.

AB  - Poljski ogled sa sortama Rekord, Maksa i Grand postavljen je na
zemljištu tipa vertisol tokom vegetacionih sezona 2006-2010 godine. Cilj
istraživanja je bio da se kod tri sorte ozimog ječma gajenih na kiselom zemljištu
analizira prinos zrna. Najveće vrednosti prinosa zrna ustanovljene su u
vegetacionoj 2007/08 godini (5.788 t ha-1). Prosečan petogodišnji prinos zrna kod
ispitivanih sorti kretao se od 4.654 t ha-1 do 5.207 t ha-1. Sorta Maksa imala je
najveći prinos zrna. Na osnovu analize varijanse, može se zaključiti da postoje vrlo
značajne razlike u prinosu zrna u odnosu na godinu ispitivanja.

highest values of grain yield were established in the vegetation year 2007/08
(5.788 t ha-1). The average of five-year grain yield of barley cultivars ranged from
4.654 t ha-1 to 5.207 t ha-1. The Maksa cultivar had the highest yield of grain. Based
on the analysis of variance, it can be concluded that there are very significant
differences in grain yield regard the year of investigation, while among the
investigated barley cultivars the differences were very significant.

nitrogen was 80 kg/ha N, which was administered in combination with
phosphorous and potassium fertilizer. The average grain yield and 1000
grain weight of all treatments in 2010/11 growing season was significantly
greater than in 2009/10, mostly as the result of highly favourable weather
conditions at major stages of plant development. The yield, thousand grain
weight and test weight of barley significantly varied across years and
treatments. Barley yield was the highest in the NP1K and NP2K (4.171 and
4.318 t/ha) treatments. Variance analysis showed statistically very
significant differences for grain yield and test weight between the vegetation
seasons and very significant differences for grain yield and 1000 grain
weight between the effects of fertilization. Variance analysis showed
significant differences for yield between the interaction of the vegetation
seasons and variants of fertilization.

AB  - The experiment was established at the experimental field of the Small Grains Research Centre
in Kragujevac (Serbia) during the two growing seasons. The objective of the research was to
evaluate the effect of genotype and the environment on the grain yield of winter wheat
cultivars (Takovčanka, Kruna, Planeta and Vizija). The following characteristics were
analysed: grain yield, 1000 grain weight and test weight. The average grain yield of all
cultivars in the 2010/11 growing season was significantly greater than in the 2009/10 year,
mostly as the result of highly favourable weather conditions at major stages of plant
development. Takovčanka and Kruna gave significantly higher grain yields in all years
compared to Planeta. Averaged across years, significantly higher values for 1.000 grain
weight were found in Planeta and test weight was found in Takovčanka. Different responses
of cultivars to variable agroenvironmental conditions in terms of grain yield and 1.000 grain
weight and test weight require the use of a number of cultivars in the crop structure.

AB  - Creation of transgenic organisms should be endeavored necessary amount of food for the elimination of mankind hunger, increase yield and quality, resistance to diseases and pests, tolerance to high and low temperature properties and improvement of transportation and storage. Transgenic organisms are characterized by a higher content of protein, oil, and starch specific structure. Their use in the diet can have different effects on human health from uncontrolled use. Due to the relatively short period since the creation of transgenic organisms and for greater security man and the ecosystem of their production and trade is within the legal regulations and legislation.
AB  - Čovek je tokom svog istorijskog razvoja do danas bio, između ostalog, kreativno biće u interakciji sa spoljašnjom sredinom. Birao je najbolje vrste, najbolje plodove, najbolja staništa i u tom ambijentu je proizvodio i kreirao bolje od postojećeg pa i u živom svetu. Transgeni oganizmi su kreirani u cilju povećanja prinosa, kvaliteta i adaptivnosti a time i obezbeđenje hrane za ljudsku populaciju koja se brojno umnožava. Za neke transgene organizme je ustanovljeno negativno delovanje na druge organizme i ekosistem. Tako su se u oblasti biotehnologije postigli vrhunski rezultati koji ne ostavljaju ravnodušnim pojedince, grupe i udruženja u naučnoj, stručnoj i široj javnosti kod nas i u svetu.

abstract = "Creation of transgenic organisms should be endeavored necessary amount of food for the elimination of mankind hunger, increase yield and quality, resistance to diseases and pests, tolerance to high and low temperature properties and improvement of transportation and storage. Transgenic organisms are characterized by a higher content of protein, oil, and starch specific structure. Their use in the diet can have different effects on human health from uncontrolled use. Due to the relatively short period since the creation of transgenic organisms and for greater security man and the ecosystem of their production and trade is within the legal regulations and legislation., Čovek je tokom svog istorijskog razvoja do danas bio, između ostalog, kreativno biće u interakciji sa spoljašnjom sredinom. Birao je najbolje vrste, najbolje plodove, najbolja staništa i u tom ambijentu je proizvodio i kreirao bolje od postojećeg pa i u živom svetu. Transgeni oganizmi su kreirani u cilju povećanja prinosa, kvaliteta i adaptivnosti a time i obezbeđenje hrane za ljudsku populaciju koja se brojno umnožava. Za neke transgene organizme je ustanovljeno negativno delovanje na druge organizme i ekosistem. Tako su se u oblasti biotehnologije postigli vrhunski rezultati koji ne ostavljaju ravnodušnim pojedince, grupe i udruženja u naučnoj, stručnoj i široj javnosti kod nas i u svetu.",

AB  - Variability of technological quality components (sedimentation value, wet gluten content and flour water absorption) in six winter wheat cultivars (KG-56S, KG-100, Studenica, Takovčanka, Toplica and Lazarica) created in the Small Grains Research Centre of Kragujevac were investigated. Quality components were analysed during seven years (1998-2004) in the cultivars that were present in the macro-trial of Small Grains Research Centre. Standard deviation and coefficient of variation were calculated as indicators of variability. The results showed that the sedimentation value greater variability expressed by years (Cv=19.4%) than by cultivars. (Cv=15.7%). On average sedimentation value had the largest variability, and the lowest water absorption (Cv=4.2%-years; Cv=5.1%-cultivars) of all investigated traits. Wet gluten content expressed high variability by years (Cv=10.3%) and cultivars (Cv=10.4%). Cultivar Lazarica showed the lowest variability for sedimentation value, Studenica for flour water absorption, and cultivar KG-56S for wet gluten content. In these investigations cultivar KG-56S had the largest values for sedimentation value and wet gluten content (55.8 ml and 33.3%, respectively). This cultivar has genetically excellent technological quality.

AB  - Stem height and second (basal) internode are highly important components of lodging resistance in barley. A diallel crossing of five divergent barley genotypes (KG-1/90, NS-293, Jagodinac, KG-15 and KG10/90) was carried out in order to examine the modes of inheritance of stem height and second-internode length. The dominance of a parent with a higher stem was the prevailing mode of stem height inheritance in most of the combinations in F1 and F2 generations, the degree of dominance ranging from partial to superdominance. Partial dominance mostly occurred in the inheritance of second-internode length in most crossing combinations. An analysis of genetic variance components showed that the dominant gene effect was the most contributing factor to the inheritance of stem height. Additive effect genes prevailed in the inheritance of second-internode length in the F1 generation. Both additive and dominant gene effects played an important role in the F2 generation.
AB  - Visina stabla i dužina druge (bazalne) internodije su veoma značajne komponente otpornosti ječma prema poleganju. U cilju proučavanja načina nasleđivanja visine stabla i dužine druge internodije izvršeno je dialelno  ukrštenje pet divergentnih genotipova ječma (KG-1/90, NS-293, Jagodinac, KG-15, KG10/90). U nasleđivanju visine stabla kod većine kombinacija u F1 i F2 generaciji je preovladavala dominacija roditelja veće visine stabla, gde je stepen dominacije varirao od parcijalne do superdominacije. U nasleđivanju dužine druge internodije kod najvećeg broja kombinacija je uglavnom bio ispoljen parcijalno dominantni način nasleđivanja. Komponente genetičke varijanse i prosečan stepen dominacije u F1 i F2 generaciji  su ukazali da je nasleđivanju visine stabla preovladavao dominantni efekat gena. U nasleđivanju dužine druge internodije u F1 generaciji su preovladavali geni sa aditivnim  efektom, dok su u F2 pored njih značajni  i dominantni efekati gena.

AB  - Five winter wheat cultivars created in Small Grains Research Centre of Kragujevac (Ana Morava, Toplica, Vizija, Takovčanka and Lazarica) were grown at the macro field trial in three locations (Kragujevac, Sombor and Bačka Topola) during three years (2004-2006). Influence of genetic and agro-ecological conditions of locations on wheat quality components (sedimentation value and wet gluten content) was investigated. The analysis of variance suggested there were highly significant differences among genotypes (G), investigated years (Y) and locations (L) for sedimentation value and wet gluten content. Apart from individual influence of the factors, their interactions (G x Y, G x L, Y x L, G x Y x L) were also high significant for both investigated traits. In average the highest sedimentation value (40.6 ml) and wet gluten content (31.85 %) established at Bačka Topola locality. The highest value of all investigated cultivars and localities established at cultivar Vizija (45.3 ml) in Bačka Topola, while the lowest at Lazarica (31.7 ml) in Sombor. The highest wet gluten content was measured at Bačka Topola locality by cultivar Toplica (38.53 %). In this investigation Bačka Topola locality was favourable for both investigated quality traits.
AB  - U radu je ispitivano pet sorti ozime pšenice (Ana Morava, Toplica, Vizija, Takovčanka i Lazarica) stvorenih u Centru za strna žita u Kragujevcu. Analizirani su parametri tehnološkog kvaliteta (sedimentaciona vrednost i sadržaj vlažnog glutena) na uzorcima iz makroogleda koji su izvedeni na tri lokaliteta (Kragujevac, Sombor i Bačka Topola) tokom tri godine (2004-2006). Ispitivan je uticaj genotipa i ekološkoh faktora na tehnološki kvalitet pšenice. Analizom varijanse utvrđene su visoko značajne razlike između sorti, ispitivanih godina i lokaliteta za obe osobine kvaliteta.  Osim pojedinačnih uticaja ispitivanih faktora (sorta, godina i lokalitet), ustanovljene su visoko značajne razlike i za sve njihove interakcije. U proseku, najveće vrednosti sedimentacije (40.6 ml) i vlažnog glutena (31.85 %) utvrđene su na uzorcima sa lokaliteta Bačka Topola. AB  - A comparative study on the grain yield and yield components of six
winter barley cultivars and lines was conducted at an experimental farm of the Small
Grains Research Centre in Kragujevac over a three-year period. The analysis included
stem height, spike number per m2, kernel number per spike and grain yield.
The smallest and greatest plant heights were found with the K-10-85 line and cv. NS-
293, respectively, regardless of the year of observation. A considerably lower stem height, as
compared to the standard cultivar, was observed in genotypes NS-331, K-10-85 and ZA-88.
Plant height and grain yield were substantially affected by environmental
conditions during the observation period. These traits were also considerably affected by
the genotype-year interaction.
Spike number per m2 and kernel number per spike were significantly affected by
year, the differences between the cultivars and lines observed in this study were not
significant, and moreover, no important effects of the genotype-year interaction were
registered. There were significant differences in grain yield between the genotypes
studied, the highest and lowest being obtained by K-10-85 and KG-8/4, respectively.
AB  - U trogodišnjem periodu obavljena su uporedna sortna ispitivanja komponenti
prinosa i prinosa zrna šest ozimih sorti i linija jecma na imanju Centra za strna
žita u Kragujevcu. Analizirana je visina stabla, broj klasova po m2, broj zrna po klasu
i prinos zrna.
Bez obzira na godinu ispitivanja najmanju visinu biljke imala je linija K-10-
85, a najvecu sorta NS-293. Znacajno nižu visinu stabla u odnosu na sortu standard
imali su genotipovi NS-331, K-10-85 i ZA-88.
Uslovi uspevanja u posmatranim godinama imali su znacajan uticaj na visinu
biljke i visinu prinosa. Za data svojstva javio se i znacajan interakcijski efekat
izmedu genotipa i godine.
Na broj klasova po m2 i broj zrna po klasu znacajno je uticala godina, a
razlike izmedu sorti i linija nisu znacajne i nije bilo znacajnih efelkata u interakciji
genotip-godina. Genotipovi su se znacajno razlikovali u visini prinosa, tako da je
najveci prinos imala linija K-10-85, a najmanji KG-8/4.

85, a najvecu sorta NS-293. Znacajno nižu visinu stabla u odnosu na sortu standard
imali su genotipovi NS-331, K-10-85 i ZA-88.
Uslovi uspevanja u posmatranim godinama imali su znacajan uticaj na visinu
biljke i visinu prinosa. Za data svojstva javio se i znacajan interakcijski efekat
izmedu genotipa i godine.
Na broj klasova po m2 i broj zrna po klasu znacajno je uticala godina, a
razlike izmedu sorti i linija nisu znacajne i nije bilo znacajnih efelkata u interakciji
genotip-godina. Genotipovi su se znacajno razlikovali u visini prinosa, tako da je
najveci prinos imala linija K-10-85, a najmanji KG-8/4.",

AB  - The genetic and phenotypic variability for plant height and spike length were analyzed in ten winter wheat cultivars from different selection centers. The experiment was performed in randomized block design in five replications on the experimental field in two years. A total number of 50 plants have been analyzed in the full maturity stage. Average estimated values of plant height and spike length differed significantly among years and among cultivars. The highest average value for plant height established at Ljubičevka cultivar (89cm), and the lowest average plant height established at Zagrepčanka (64.0cm). Higher values are established in the second year than in the first year of investigation (69.1cm, 63.9cm, respectively). The variation coefficient of plant height for all examined cultivars and years varied from 2.7% to 6.1%. The highest average value for spike length showed Ljubičevka (9.8cm), and the lowest Slavonija (7.0cm). All investigated cultivars had higher average value of spike length in the second year (8.8cm) than in the first year (7.7cm). The variation coefficient of spike length for all examined cultivars and years varied from 5.3% (Jugoslavija) to 8.7% (Baranjka).
The highest influence on plant height expression had genetic factors (66.16%), but lower impact belonged to environmental factors (26.75%), and only 3.31% belonged to genetic/environment interaction. Spike length expression also highly depended to genetic factors (52.60%), but on this trait expression the environmental factors had higher influence (40.26%) than on plant height.

AB  - Variability of amino acids composition
of 6 barley and 6 wheat divergent genotypes were
identified by using method of chromatography.
Concentration of identified amino acids was
established by method of spectrophotometry. Total
concentration of free amino acids was determined
by standard curved line for tyrosine while
concentration for each amino acid was determined
by using of standard curved line for glycine.
Qualitative and quantitative analysis of amino
acids showed that glutamic acid, proline,
threonine, norvaline, tryptophan, were the most
present in seeds of analyzed cereal species
cultivars. Quantity of free amino acid in wheat
varies in the ratio from 35 to 92 mg/ml and in
barley from 41 to 81 mg/ml. Concentration of
glutamic acid in wheat was 6.5 mg/ml and was
higher than contents of other amino acids. In
barley cultivars the highest concentration was
established for amino acids proline (12.5 mg/ml)
AB  - Varijabilnost sadržaja aminokiselina kod
6 sorti ječma i 6 divergentnih genotipova pšenice je
identifikovana korišćenjem metode hromatogragije.
Koncentracija amino kiselina je ustanovljena
metodom spektrofotometrije. Ukupna koncentracija
slobodnih aminokiselina je odredjivana pomoću
standardne krive linije za tirozin, dok je
koncentracija pojedinih aminokiselina odredjivana
korišćenjemstandardne krive linije za glicin.
Kvalitativna i kvantitativna anliza aminokiselina je
pokazala da su u semenu ječma i pšenice od
slobodnih aminokiselina najzastupljenije:
glutaminska kiselina, prolin, treonin, norvalin,
triptofan. Kvantitet aminokiselina kod pšenice
varira u rasponu od 35-92 mg/ml a kod ispitivanih
sorti ječma od 41 do 81 mg/ml. Koncentracija
glutaminske kiseline kod pšenice bila je najveća 6.5
mg/ml u poredjenju sa drugim aminokiselinama.

AB  - In diallel cross excluding reciprocals of four divergent wheat cultivars (Ana Morava, Gruža, Beograđanka and Pobeda) was derived F2 hybrids. Those four cultivars and F2 hybrids were investigated to estimate the mode of inheritance, gene effects and combining abilities for number of kernels per spike in wheat plants. By analysis was established different mode of inheritance for number of kernels per spike (intermediate, partial dominance, dominance and overdominance). Analysis of variance of combining abilities indicated significant differences for this trait. Obtained results showed that this trait determined by additive and non-additive gene effects. Significant high value of specific combining ability (SCG) in F2 hybrids indicated preponderance of non-additive gene effect. The highest value of general combining ability (GCA) expressed cultivar Ana Morava while the best specific combination was cross of Ana Morava x Beograđanka for number of kernels per spike.
