AB - The storage proteins influence technological quality value of grain wheat, dough quality traits, and loaf quality. The aim of this study is to estimate variability in the dry gluten content, loaf volume, and their relationships with encoding alleles of gliadin and glutenins. Wheat genotypes grown in two vegetation seasons (2015/16 and 2016/17) were studied. The technological quality traits analyzed in this study varied in wheat genotypes within and between vegetation seasons. In both vegetation seasons the highest dry gluten content was established in G-3621-1 (30.23% and 31.15%) and the highest value of loaf volume in G-3621-1 (530 ml and 540 ml). In both vegetation seasons the least dry gluten content was found in G-3606-6 (25.42% and 25.98%) and the least loaf volume in G-3606-6 (380 ml and 390 ml). The composition of gliadin and glutenin alleles in the wheat genotypes analyzed was different. The genotypes carrying Gli-B1b, Gli-D1b, Gli-D2b, and Glu-A1b, Glu-B1c, Glu-D1d had the highest gluten content, while the genotype that carried Gli-B1l and Glu-A1b, Glu-B1c, Glu-D1d had high bread volume. The results have shown relationships between gliadin and glutenin alleles and quality traits of grain, flour, and bread.

AB - Wheat is the staple plant species for production food and end food products for nutrition of majority world populations. The constraints of natural resources and an increase of human population, require increasing arable land for plant cultivation and improving crop yield for security of food. Existing limitations present a challenge to breeders to use classical and new biotechnological methods to create new varieties with higher yield, better quality and greater resistance to stress conditions. In addition, during cultivation, it is necessary to apply adequate crop nutrition and protection of crops from diseases and pests with mineral fertilizers in order to increase crop resistance and reduce the negative impact of stress factors, thus increasing yields.

AB - The aim of this study was determination of protein content and amino acid composition in seeds of bread wheat, with particular focus of evaluation essential amino acids (EAAs). For analysis used flour samples of grained seed of 10 wheat variety, which selected in different breeding center (in Novi Sad and Kragujevac, Serbia). Kjeldahl method was used for determination of nitrogen (N) contents which value multiplied with coefficient 5.7 for computing protein content (protein contents = 5.7 x % N contents). Amino acids analyses of wheat samples were performed by ion exchange chromatography, followed by the ninhydrin colour reaction and photometric detection at 570 nm and 440 nm (for proline). The results showed that the mean protein content for wheat varied from the lowest value 10.24% in Ljubičevka to the highest 14.21% in Fortuna variety. The mean contents (g 100 g-l protein) of nonessential amino acids (NEAAs) were aspartic acid 5.42%, serine 4.23%, glutamic acid 18.51%, proline 12.18%, glycine 4.17%, alanine 3.64%, tyrosine 2.52%, arginine 5.02%, while mean contents of essential amino acids (EAAs) were threonine 2.86%, valine 4.52%, methionine 1.28%, isoleucine 3.87%, leucine 5.87%, phenylalanine 4.62%, histidine 2.46%, lysine 2.91%. The wheat variety contained relatively high concentration of the most deficient EAAs. The variety Ljubičevka contained relatively high concentration of the most deficient EAAs (threonine, valine, leucine, lysine,). The highest value (29.31 g 100 g-l protein) of total essential amino acids (TEAA), 59.79 g 100 g-l protein of total nonessential amino acids (TNEAA) as well as the highest value (90.35 g 100 g-l protein) of total amino acids (TAA). Obtained results provide variability of wheat variety on the base of amino acid contents and indicate reliable variety for selecting desirable parents in breeding program for improving nutrient quality.
Najveći sadržaj (29,31 g 100 g-1 proteina), ukupnih esencijalnih amino kiselina (TEAA), i najveći sadržaj (59,79 g 100 g-1 proteina) ukupnih neesencijalnih amino kiselina (TNEAA) kao i najveća vrednost (90,35 g 100 g-1 proteina) ukupnih aminokiselina ( TAA).

The mean contents (g 100 g-l protein) of nonessential amino acids (NEAAs) were aspartic acid 5.42%, serine 4.23%, glutamic acid 18.51%, proline 12.18%, glycine 4.17%, alanine 3.64%, tyrosine 2.52%, arginine 5.02%, while mean contents of essential amino acids (EAAs) were threonine 2.86%, valine 4.52%, methionine 1.28%, isoleucine 3.87%, leucine 5.87%, phenylalanine 4.62%, histidine 2.46%, lysine 2.91%. The wheat variety contained relatively high concentration of the most deficient EAAs. The variety Ljubičevka contained relatively high concentration of the most deficient EAAs (threonine, valine, leucine, lysine,). The highest value (29.31 g 100 g-l protein) of total essential amino acids (TEAA), 59.79 g 100 g-l protein of total nonessential amino acids (TNEAA) as well as the highest value (90.35 g 100 g-l protein) of total amino acids (TAA). Obtained results provide variability of wheat variety on the base of amino acid contents and indicate reliable variety for selecting desirable parents in breeding program for improving nutrient quality., Cilj ovog istraživanja je bio određivanje sadržaja proteina i sastava aminokiselina u semenu hlebne pšenice, sa posebnim fokusom na procenu esencijalnih aminokiselina (EAA). Najveći sadržaj (29,31 g 100 g-1 proteina), ukupnih esencijalnih amino kiselina (TEAA), i najveći sadržaj (59,79 g 100 g-1 proteina) ukupnih neesencijalnih amino kiselina (TNEAA) kao i najveća vrednost (90,35 g 100 g-1 proteina) ukupnih aminokiselina ( TAA).

svih analiziranih genotipova. Faktor interakcije je imao najveći doprinos
fenotipskoj ekspresiji prinosa zrna (47,74%), dok je faktor godina imao
najveći udeo u varijaciji mase 1000 zrna (79,77%). Najveći prinos zrna u
obe vegetacione sezone je ostvario genotip Skopjanka. Genotipovi Dukat
i Iskra se karakterišu najslabijom reakcijom na stres, uz postignut visok
prinos zrna u uslovima suše. Genotip Iskra se izdvaja najvećom
vrednošću mase 1000 zrna u uslovima stresa suše, dok je genotip
Dunavka postigao najveću vrednost mase 1000 zrna u povoljnim
uslovima sredine.

having the highest thousand grain weight under drought stress, while
genotype Dunavka achieved the highest thousand grain weight under
favorable environmental conditions.

AB - U ovom radu su ispitivane osobine kvaliteta zrna pet genotipova
ozimog krupnika (Nirvana, KG-37-8/3, KG-54-7/3, KG-54-8/1 i KG-54-
vegetacione sezone. Urađene su analize sadržaja proteina u zrnu i
hektolitarska masa zrna.
hl-1), a zatim linije KG-54-7/3 (79,16 kg hl-1) i KG-54-2/3 (78,80 kg hl-1).
osobine kvaliteta zrna krupnika.
AB - In this work, the grain quality characteristics of five genotypes of
winter wheat (Nirvana, KG37-8/3, KG-54-7/3, KG-54-8/1 and KG-54-

principles of organic production during two growing seasons. Analyzes of
grain protein content and hectoliter grain weight were performed. The
protein content, on average, ranged from 12,03% (KG-54-8/1) to 13.06%
and 13.02% (KG-54-2/3 and KG-54-8/1, respectively). The values were
statistically significant higher (13.59%**) in the first than in the second
year of the research (11.90%**). In these studies, on average for both
years, line KG-37-8/3 (82.46 kg hl-1) had the highest hectoliter weight,
which also had the highest value in the entire trial (88.30 kg hl-1 ), and
then lines KG-54-7/3 (79.16 kg hl-1) and KG-54-2/3 (78.80 kg hl-1).
Analysis of variance revealed statistically highly significant differences
between genotypes, years and their interactions for both tested grain
quality traits.

AB - Creating wheat genotypes characterized by high grain yield, high protein content, and favorable amino acid composition is the main goal of breeders, especially in developing countries where wheat is a staple food. An experiment with 20 wheat genotypes, released through breeding activities in the Serbian region at different periods and adapted to its pedoclimatic conditions, was conducted with the aim of determining the genetic potential of the analyzed genotypes for grain yield and quality. Due to the divergence of the examined wheat germplasm, the factor of genotype had the largest share in the variation of all yield parameters (>66%). The genotypes Zadruga and Agrounija exhibited superior abilities for overall grain yield. Also, genotype Zadruga stood out in a distinct cluster group due to high values of both thousand grain weight and grain yield per plant. A continuous improvement in protein content was found, with newer genotypes having 17.13% higher protein content compared with older genotypes. Genotype Sloga stood out with the highest protein content (13.93%). On the other hand, the old genotype Balkan was distinguished by the highest content of nonessential amino acids (61.5 g 100 g−1 protein), which makes it a good genetic resource. Genotypes Agrounija (32.62 g 100 g−1 protein) and Tanjugovka (32.47 g 100 g−1 protein) had the highest content of essential amino acids. The highest AAS value was established for tryptophan (1.81) and the lowest for lysine (0.61). Genotypes Tanjugovka and Zadruga had the highest AAS, i.e., protein completeness. The genotypes Zadruga, Tanjugovka, Agrounija, and Sloga have demonstrated high-yield capacity and possess a favorable amino acid profile, making them promising candidates for enhancing the nutritional quality of wheat and potentially benefiting human health.

AB - The storage proteins influence technological quality value of grain wheat, dough quality traits and loaf quality. The aim of this study estimation of variability grain protein content, sedimentation volume, dry gluten content, loaf volume and their relationships with encoding allele of gliadin and glutenins. For investigation used wheat genotypes grown in two vegetation season (2015/16 and 2016/17). The analysed technological quality traits varied in wheat genotypes within and between vegetation season. In both vegetation season were established the highest grain protein content in G-3627-1 (14.40% and 14.60%), the highest protein sedimentation volume in G-3606-5 (46.0 ml and 52.0 ml), the highest dry gluten content in G-3621-1 (30.23% and 31.15%) and the highest value of loaf volume in the G-3621-1 (530 ml and 540 ml). In both vegetation were found the least protein sedimantation volume in genotypes G-3636-3 (34.0 ml snd 36. ml), the least grain protein content in G-3606-4 (13.10% and 13.00%), the least dry gluten content was in G-3606-6 (25.42% and 25.98%) and the least loaf volume in G-3606-6 (380 ml and 390 ml). The composition of gliadin and glutenin alleles at the analyzed wheat geneotypes was different. In analysed wheat genotypes at six Gli- loci were identified 24 alleles and at three Glu-1 loci eight alleles. Genotypes carrying Gli-B1b, Gli-D1b, Gli-D2b and Glu-A1b, Glu-B1c, Glu-D1d had the highest sedimentation volume, genotype that carried Gli-B1l and Glu-A1b, Glu-B1c, Glu-D1d had high volume of bread. The results showed relationships of gliadin and glutenin alleles with analysed grain, flour and bread traits quality.

Planeta, Cipovka i Zemunska Rosa).
godina i njihove interakcije.
AB - In this paper, the variability and correlation between yield and yield
components in winter wheat varieties (Aleksandra, Aurelia, Planeta,
Cipovka and Zemunska Rosa) were investigated. Analysis of variance
revealed highly significant differences for yield and yield components
between cultivars, years and their interactions. Correlations and Path
analysis indicate that grain mass per plant has a statistically significant and positive direct effect (0.363*) on grain yield. Indirectly, this trait made the biggest contribution to the increase in grain yield through the mass of 1000
grains (0.120) and the mass of grains per ear (0.102). Grain weight per ear
and weight of 1000 grains have a positive direct effect on grain yield, but
without statistical significance. The positive correlation of grain mass per
ear and mass of 1000 grains with grain yield is the result of the indirect effect that these traits achieve through grain mass per plant.

AB - A two-year study was conducted with five durum wheat genotypes with
the aim of assessing their yield potential in different environental
conditions. It was found that the spring genotypes had lower values of grain yield components compared to the winter ones. The drought present during
the flowering and grain filling contributed to a decrease in the value of all traits, where the largest decrease was recorded in the grain weight per spike
(31.8%). Also, the factor of year influenced the pattern of correlation, where it was determined that the grain weight per plant had positive correlations with the plant height (0.74), the number of grains per spike (0.80) and the grains weight per spike (0.88), while it was insignificantly
correlated with the spike lenght (0.35). Two significant PCA components
were extracted, explaining together 88.5% of the variation. Spring varieties
were stood out into separate quadrants of the biplot, while winter genotypes were positioned within the vector of grain weight per plant, number of
grains per spike and plant height, achieving the highest values of the mentioned traits.

prinosa kroz osobine, dužinu klasa, broj klasaka u klasu, broj semena u klasu, masu klasa, masu semena u klasu i masu 1000 semena. Cilj rada je izučavanje variranja broja klasova pšenice u različitim rokovima i
gustinama setve.
uslova u vegetacionoj sezoni.

formation, through characteristics spike length, number of spikelets spike-
1, number of seeds spike-1, mass of spikes, mass of seeds spike-1, weight of
1000 seeds. The aim of the work is to study the variation of number of
wheat spikes m-2 in different sowing date and densities. Two varieties of
wheat Prima and Simonida were included for study number of spikes m-2
in an experiment with two dates and three sowing densities in two growing
seasons. The results showed significant differences for number of spikes
m-2 between two varieties of wheat, sowing dates, sowing densities, and between between two vegetation seasons of research. In both growing
seasons, the lowest number of spikes m-2 was found at the sowing density
of 350 seeds m-2 in both varieties, namely 504.50 and 350.33 in Prime and
520.50 and 371.83 in Simonida variety, while the highest number of spikes m-2 was found at the highest sowing density (750 seeds), namely 558.32
and 372.50 in Prima variety and 590.17 in first and 622.17 spikes in Simonida variety in second year. The number of spikes m-2 varied depending on the genotype, sowing density, sowing time and conditions in the growing season.

prinosa kroz osobine, dužinu klasa, broj klasaka u klasu, broj semena u klasu, masu klasa, masu semena u klasu i masu 1000 semena. Cilj rada je izučavanje variranja broja klasova pšenice u različitim rokovima i
gustinama setve.
uslova u vegetacionoj sezoni., The number of spikes per unit area has a significant influence on yield
formation, through characteristics spike length, number of spikelets spike-
1, number of seeds spike-1, mass of spikes, mass of seeds spike-1, weight of
The number of spikes m-2 varied depending on the genotype, sowing density, sowing time and conditions in the growing season.",

AB - Usled ljudskih aktivnosti, zaslanjenost zemljišta postaje glavni izazov za globalnu
proizvodnju hrane.
stres zaslanjenosti predstavlja značajnu pretnju njenoj produktivnosti.
U uslovima solonjeca, genotipovi Harmonija, Renesansa,
Orašanka, KG-58, Bankut 1205 i Oplenka su grupisani u okviru iste klaster grupe,
dok su u uslovima černozema usko povezani genotipovi Renesansa i Jugoslavija, ispoljavajući
najveće prosečne vrednosti ispitivanih osobina. Na osnovu AMMI analize,
genotip Harmonija pokazuje visoku stabilnost prinosa zrna na solonjecu i ocenjen je
kao genotip tolerantan na salinitet. Genotip Renesansa je ispoljio visoku stabilnost u
svim agroekološkim sredinama i ostvario najveći prinos zrna na černozemu.
AB - Soil salinity is becoming a major challenge for global food production due to
human activities. Wheat is a staple food for a large portion of the global population,
and salt stress is a significant threat to its productivity. Therefore, the development
of salt-tolerant and high-yielding wheat genotypes is vital for ensuring sustainable
food production, especially in areas affected by soil salinity stress. Consideration
of wheat genotypes under field salinity conditions is crucial for effectively identifying
salt-tolerant varieties. The salinity tolerance of 27 wheat genotypes was
assessed under field conditions by establishing an experiment on Solonetz, for
salinity conditions, and Chernozem, as the control, during two growing seasons.
The grain weight per spike, which decreased by 35% under soil salinity conditions,
is the best phenotypic marker of the influence of salinity on the plant. Also,
soil salinity reduced the values of the number of grains per spike, spike weight,
and grain yield by 30%. Cluster heatmap analysis was performed, which enabled
hierarchical clustering of genotypes and traits. The thousand grain weight, primarily
influenced by year, is classified into a separate cluster group. On Solonetz, the
genotypes Harmonija, Renesansa, Orašanka, KG-58, Bankut 1205, and Oplenka
were grouped together, and on Chernozem, Renesansa and Jugoslavija were closely
grouped, showing the highest average trait values. Based on the AMMI analysis,
the genotype Harmonija exhibits high grain yield stability on Solonetz and was
identified as the salt-tolerant genotype. The genotype Renesansa showed high
stability in all environments and achieved the highest grain yield on Chernozem.

AB - A two-year study was conducted on 16 wheat genotypes with the aim of examining the
reaction of genotypes to different environmental conditions. Grain weight per spike is a
quantitative trait, which phenotypic expression is determined by the influence of a number of
minor genes and environmental factors. Therefore, this trait is a suitable phenotypic marker of
influence of environmental factors on the plant. The year factor had the largest share in the
variation of grain weight per spike (67.82%), while the share of the genotype and the genotype x year interaction was significantly smaller (14.98 and 10.95% respectively). Drought conditions, which characterized the 2016/2017 growing season, affected the
reduction of grain weight per spike by 41.7%. The greatest reduction in the value of trait
under stress conditions was recorded in Fundulea 4 genotype (63.14%), which achieved the
highest value in favorable environmental conditions (3.5 g), while in drought conditions it had
a below-average value (1.29 g). Also, Dunavka genotype made good use of favorable
environmental conditions to achieve a high value of grain weight per spike (3.14 g), so it can
be recommended for breeding in favorable climatic conditions. On the other hand, the highest
tolerance to drought was exhibited by the Pitoma genotype, which recorded a 15.67%
decrease in grain weight per spike. The high tolerance of the mentioned genotype results from
the highest value of the trait achieved in the dry growing season (1.83 g), which makes this
genotype a good genetic resource for breeding for drought tolerance.

AB - Climate change and the resulting increase in the frequency and severity of drought can have
significant impacts on plant production. The use of drought-tolerant crop varieties can
significantly improve plant production under drought conditions. Therefore, the goal of this
research was to evaluate the drought tolerance of different wheat genotypes using stress
resistance indicators. An experiment was conducted with sixteen wheat genotypes in Novi Bečej (Vojvodina) in different growing seasons. The spike weight was used as a phenotypic marker of the effect of drought stress on the plant. Selection based on resistance indicators
such as stress tolerance index (STI), mean productivity (MP), and geometric mean
productivity (GMP) favors the selection of genotypes Dunavka, Skopjanka, and Fundulea 4,
which were characterized by the highest average values of spike weight, especially in
favorable growing conditions. However, genotype Fundulea 4 is characterized by the highest
stress susceptibility index (SSI) and the lowest yield stability index (YSI), which makes this
genotype undesirable for growing under drought conditions. The parameters SSI and YSI
favor the selection of the genotype Pitoma, which showed the highest value of spike weight in
drought conditions as well as the least reduction in value caused by stress. Genotypes Pitoma,
Dunavka, and Skopjanka, characterized by a high yield index (YI), are suitable for cultivation
in drought conditions, where they achieved above-average trait values. The most suitable
stress resistance indicators for selecting drought-tolerant wheat genotypes are SSI, YSI, and
YI.

AB - The quality of wheat seed protein is determined by encoding gene alleles, but percentage
content varies depending from genotypes, environmental factors and interaction genotype/
environmental conditions. The aim of this work is analysis of seed protein content,
sedimentation volume and their relationship with gliadin and high molecular weight glutenin
subunits in bread wheat. The 10 wheat genotypes included in experimental field study in two
vegetation seasons (2015/16 and 2016/17) with different climatic conditions. The results
showed that seed protein content and sedimentation volume, varied in wheat genotypes within
and between vegetation season. The highest seed protein content in both vegetation season
was found in the genotype G-3617-1 (14.00% and 14.80%) and the least in genotype G-
3634-2 (11.40% and 12.00%). The value of protein sedimentation volume in both vegetation
season was the highest in genotype G-3622-1 (52.00 ml and 56.00 ml), while the least in
genotype G-3601-4 (33.00 ml and 36.00 ml). Genotypes were grouped according to the
presence of the same allele at all six loci for gliadins and three loci for high-molecular-weight
glutenins, and found that with high value of seed protein content associate Gli-B1b, Gli-D2b,
and Glu-A1b, Glu-B1c, Glu-D1d, allele, and that with high value of sedimentation protein
volume associated Gli-B1b, Gli-B2b and Glu-A1b, Glu-B1c, Glu-D1d allele.

Elektroforegrami
su korišćeni za određivanje alela Gli-1 i Gli-2, kao i alela Glu-1. Identifikovano je
pet alela (a, b, c, f, m) na Gli-A1, četiri alela (b, g, e, l) na Gli-B1, četiri alela (a,
b, g, k) na Gli-D1, pet alela (b, e, g, m, n) na Gli-A2, šest alela (b, c, d, g, k, o) na
Gli-B2 i tri alela (a, b , e, h, m) na Gli-D2 lokusu. Za podjedinice glutenina visoke
molekularne mase (HMVGS) je identifikovano tri alela (a, b, c) na Glu-A1, sedam
alela (a, b, c, d, f, h, i) na Glu-B1 i tri alela (a, c, d) na Glu-D1. Identifikovani aleli
na svakom Gli-1, Gli-2 i Glu-1 lokusu ukazuju na visok polimorfizam proteina
glutena i genetičku divergentnost analiziranih genotipova pšenice.
AB - Gliadin and glutenins are deposited in endosperm of seed and they have the
highest share in the protein content of seeds. The aim of this study is identification
of gene allele polymorphisms encoding gliadin and glutenins. Ten varieties of
wheat were included in this study and 30 seeds from each genotype were used for
the extraction of gliadin by 70% ethanole, and glutenins by 10% β-mercaptoethanol.
The gliadins were separated by acid PAGE electrophoresis (pH=3.1) on 8.33%
polyacrylamide gel, while glutenins were separated by SDS-PAGE (pH-8.6) on
11.8% gel. Electrophoregrams were used for determining Gli-1 and Gli-2 alleles
as well for Glu-1 allele. The five alleles (a, b, c, f, m) at the Gli-A1, four alleles (b,
g, e, l) at the Gli-B1, four alleles (a, b, g, k) at the Gli-D1, five alleles (b, e, g, m, n)
at the Gli-A2, six alleles (b, c, d, g, k, o) at the Gli-B2 and five alleles (a, b, e, h, m)
at the Gli-D2 locus were identified. For high molecular weight glutenin subunists
(HMWGS) the three alleles (a, b, c) at the Glu-A1, seven alleles (a,b, c, d, f, h, i)
at the Glu-B1 and three alleles (a c, d) at the Glu-D1 were identified. Identified
alleles at each Gli-1, Gli-2 and Glu-1 loci indicate high polymorphisms of gluten
proteins and genetic divergences of analyzed wheat genotypes.

Kumane (solonjec, povećana zaslanjenost) i Rimski Šančevi (černozem,
kontrola).
vrednostima indikatora SP, ITS i IP favorizuje odabir genotipova Bankut
1205, Orašanka, KG-58, Jugoslavija, Renesansa i Harmonija. Iz grupe
genotipova sa visokim vrednostima SP, ITS i IP (klaster A), genotip
Harmonija ima nisku vrednost parametra IOS (0,52) i visoke vrednosti
ISP (0,84), IP (1,66) i prinosa zrna po klasu na solonjecu (1,50 g), što ga
čini veoma tolerantnim genotipom na salinitet. Parametri IOS i ISP
AB - In order to assess the tolerance of wheat to salinity stress, a two-year
trial was conducted with 27 wheat genotypes, grown on two soil types:
Solonetz (salinity stress) and Chernozem (control). Salinity stress reduced
grain yield per ear by about 30%, which makes this trait a good
phenotypic marker of salinity stress. Selection based on SP, ITS and IP
indicators favors the selection of genotypes Bankut 1205, Orašanka, KG-
58, Jugoslavija, Renesansa, and Harmonija. From the group of genotypes
with high values of SP, ITS and IP, the genotype Harmonija has a low
value of the parameter IOS (0.52) and a high value of ISP (0.84), IP
(1.66), and grain yield per ear on the Solonetz (1.50 g), which makes it
salinity-tolerant genotype. The parameters IOS and ISP identify
genotypes that, regardless of low yield, are characterized by low
sensitivity to stress (Šumadija, Rujna, and Premija), because these

AB - The present study was carried out to investigate the phenotypic variability and genotype ×
environment interaction (G×E) for spike weight of different wheat genotypes. The
experiment included 27 wheat genotypes, grown under favorable conditions (Rimski Šančevi
locality, Chernozem soil type) and salinity stress conditions (Kumane locality, Solonetz soil
type), during two growing seasons. Using the AMMI analysis of variance we found a
statistically significant (p<0.01) influence of additive and non-additive sources of variation
on the phenotypic variation of spike weight. Additive sources of variation (genotype and
environment) had a share of 62.29% in the total sum of square. The environmental factors
(growing season and soil type) contributed to the variation of spike weight with a share of
53.75% in the total variation of the experiment, while the factor of genotype had a
significantly smaller share (8.54%). The G×E participated to the total variation of spike
weight with 20.84%, where the first two principal interaction components (PCA1 and PCA2)
explained 91.74% of the interaction. The genotypes Harmonija, KG-58, Orašanka,
Renesansa, Morava, Perfekta and Bankut 1205 were characterized by high values of spike
weight and high stability. Genotypes Bankut 1205, Banatka, Grbljanka and Morava were in
positive interaction with the vector of environment Rimski Šančevi 2015/2016 (favorable
conditions), while the genotypes Harmonija, Gružanka, Oplenka, Šumadija and Premija
reacted well to salinity stress conditions of environment Kumane.

AB - Gluten proteins are formed from proteins of flour, gliadin and glutenins which in contact with
water, begin to interact through the formation of chemical bonds. The aim of this study is
identification of encoding genes polymorphisms of gliadin and glutenins in 10 bread wheat
genotypes. For analysis used 30 seeds of 10 wheat genotypes for extraction of gliadins by
70% ethanole, and glutenins by 10% β-mercaptoethanol.The gliadins were separated by acid
page electrophoresis (pH=3.1) on 8.33% polyacrylamide gel, while glutenins were separated
by SDS-PAGE (pH-8.6) on 11.8% gel. Electrophoregrams were used for determining Gli-1
and Gli-2 alleles. The three alleles (a, b, m) at the Gli-A1, four alleles (b, g, l, k) at the Gli-
B1, five alleles (a, b, f, g, k) at the Gli-D1, five alleles (b, e, f, g, k) at the Gli-A2, four alleles
(b, h, j, p) at the Gli-B2 and three alleles (a, b, r) at the Gli-D2 locus were identified. For high
molecular weight glutenin subunists (HMWGS) the three alleles (a, b, c) at the Glu-A1, three
alleles (b, c, d) at the Glu-B1 and two alleles (a, d) at the Glu-D1 were identified. Gluten
proteins varied according to composition alleles encoding gliadin and glutenins in analyzed
wheat genotypes what related with established polymorphisms of each gliadin and glutenin
loci.

Kragujevac (KG-28-6, KG-3405-03, KG-43-33-1 i KG-44-3-1).
organske proizvodnje tokom dve vegetacione sezone (2012/2013. i
2013/2014.). Ustanovljene su statistički visoko značajne razlike za
genotip i interakciju genotip×godina kod obe ispitivane komponente
prinosa.
interakciji, a značajno manji ostalim komponentama varijanse. Ispitivane
(1,5 g).
AB - In this paper, the variability of yield components (number of grains per
spike and weight of grains per spike) was investigated in seven genotypes
of winter durum wheat. Three varieties of durum wheat (Windur, Žitka

Grains and Rural Development Kragujevac (KG-28-6, KG-3405-03, KG-
43-33-1 and KG-44-3-1) were analyzed. The experiment was carried out
on a certified organic farm in Čačak, according to the principles of
organic production during two growing seasons (2012/2013 and
2013/2014). A highly significant statistical differences were found for the
genotype and the genotype×year interaction in both examined yield
components. In the total variance for both properties, the largest share
belonged to the interaction, and a significantly smaller part belonged to
the other variance components. The studied yield components showed
remarkable variability, which was also confirmed by the coefficient of
variation. On average, KG-3405-03 had the highest number of grains per
spike (46.0), which also achieved the highest grain weight per spike (1.5
g).

AB - The creation of salt-tolerant wheat genotypes can provide a basis for sustainable wheat production in areas that are particularly sensitive to the impacts of climate change on soil salinity. This study aimed to select salt-tolerant wheat genotypes that could serve as a genetic resource in breeding for salinity tolerance. A two-year experiment was established with 27 wheat genotypes, grown in salinity stress and non-stress conditions. Agronomic parameters (plant height, spike weight, number of grains per spike, thousand grain weight, and grain yield/plant) were analyzed in the phenophase of full maturity, while biochemical parameters (DPPH radical scavenging activity and total phenolic content) were tested in four phenophases. Grain yield/plant was the most sensitive parameter to salinity, with a 31.5% reduction in value. Selection based on salt tolerance indices (STI, MP, and GMP) favored the selection of the genotypes Renesansa, Harmonija, Orašanka, Bankut 1205, KG-58, and Jugoslavija. Based on YI (1.30) and stability analysis, the genotype Harmonija stands out as the most desirable genotype for cultivation in saline conditions. The presence of positive correlations between grain yield/plant and biochemical parameters, in all phenophases, enables the selection of genotypes with high antioxidant activity and high yield potential, even in the early stages of plant development.

The presence of positive correlations between grain yield/plant and biochemical parameters, in all phenophases, enables the selection of genotypes with high antioxidant activity and high yield potential, even in the early stages of plant development.",

AB - This paper examines the effect of foliar nitrogen nutrition on seven durum wheat genotypes produced according to the principles of organic production. The experiments were performed during two growing seasons on organic farm in Čačak, Serbia. Three different N fertilization strategies have been compared: T1- control without N application after the stem elongation stage; T2- foliar N fertilization at the beginning of heading, one spray with 0.3% organic fertilizer Trainer (5% N and 31% amino acids); T3- foliar N fertilization in both stages, heading and anthesis with 0.3% organic fertilizer Trainer (5% N) each. Analysis of grain yield and yield components (number of spikes m-2, number of grains per spike and thousand grain weight (TGW) was performed. The number of spikes per square meter, number of grains spike-1, TGW, and grain yield significantly increased (P ≤ 0.01) with different levels of fertilizers. Foliar fertilization had a significant effect on yield in both growing seasons. Grain yield, on average for all genotypes and years after spraying were 22% (one N treatment), and 54% (two N treatments) higher than in the control. Grain yield was about 26% higher in two N treatments than in one N treatment. Grain yield was positively correlated with other traits (TGW, number of spikes m-2 and number of grains/spike).

AB - In order to evaluate the antioxidant activity of wheat in salinity stress conditions, an experiment with 27 wheat genotypes grown on two types of soil was conducted: solonetz (increased salinity) and chernozem (control), during two vegetation seasons (2015/2016 and 2016/2017). Analysis of DPPH radical scavenging activity and phenolic content (PC) were performed in different phenophases of wheat (tillering, stem elongation and heading). Genotypes showed significantly higher DPPH radical scavenging activity (9.82 mg trolox equivalents (TE) per mg of dry matter (d.m.)) and PC (8.15 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE) per mg d.m.) under salinity stress conditions compared to values obtained on control (8.52 mg TE mg-1 d.m. and 7.13 mg GAE mg-1 d.m., respectively). All analyzed factors (genotype, soil type and year) had the highly significant influence on phenotypic variation of grain yield. Salinity stress reduced grain yield by 30%, whereas drought stress in 2016/2017 vegetation season reduced grain yield by 20%. Highly significant and positive correlations are present between grain yield and parameters of antioxidant activity in all growth stages of wheat and both soil conditions. Therefore, it could be possible to select salinity tolerant genotypes in early growth stages. DPPH scavenging activity and total phenolic content are in highly significant and positive correlation in all growth stages, which indicates that antioxidant activity is highly derived by phenolics.
