AB - At the end of March 2016, the species Ceroplastes rusci was found for the first time in Serbia on a fig (Ficus carica L.) in the locality of Belgrade (Ledine). This species is polyphagous and causes significant damage to figs by feeding on plant juices from all above-ground parts. After the first finding, it was studied in more detail. The presence, intensity of attacks and development cycle of C. rusci was studied during 2016 and 2017 in the area of Belgrade. Тhe intensity of atack was evaluated according to the scale of Borchsenius (1963). Sampling of plant material with scale insects was carried out throughout the year, and the life cycle was followed by the method of cultivation in the laboratory. The identification of the species was carried out using the morphological characteristics of the female and using the keys for the determination by Gill (1988). In the area of Belgrade, the species was found on Ficus carica L. (fam. Moraceae) in a private yard at the Ledine location. All above-ground parts of the plant were covered with numerous colonies of scales, so the intensity of the attack was rated as 4. This degree of infestation caused the physiological weakening of the plants and the drying of individual branches. C. rusci reproduces by gamogenesis, develops one generation per year, and overwinter as fertilized female on fig branches. In the spring, at the end of May, oviposition begins. One female lays an average of about 1200 eggs. First-stage larvae hatch in the second half of June. They actively move towards the leaves of the host plant, where they feed during the summer months. The second-stage larvae are formed in mid-August, after which females are formed during September that overwinter.

AB - Fitozeide (Phytoseiidae) su dobro proučena grupa grinja, prvenstveno zbog uloge u
integralnoj zaštiti bilja. Predatori su fitofagnih grinja (Tetranychoidea i Eriophyoidea) i sitnih
insekata (Thysanoptera i Hemiptera).
agregacijama jedna pored druge.
Prezimljavanje fitozeida pod štitovima, jajnim kesama i egzuvijama larvi štitastih vaši
Koceljeve, Žagubice, Jagodine, Nove Varoši, Prokuplja i Zubinog Potoka. Uzorkovanje
infestiranih grančica obavljeno je u periodu mirovanja i početkom vegetacije. U laboratoriji je
vršen pregled grinja pod praznim štitovima, jajnim kesama i u egzuvijama larvi.
(Aceraceae), Carpinus betulus (Betulaceae), Euonymus japonicus (Celastraceae), Sophora
japonica (Fabaceae), Quercus robur (Fagaceae), Hydrangea macrophylla (Hydrangeaceae),
Juglans regia (Juglandaceae), Salvia rosmarinus (Lamiaceae), Fraxinus excelsior (Oleaceae),
Picea abies (Pinaceae),
Cydonia oblonga, Malus domestica, Prunus domestica, Rosa canina i Rubus caesisus
(Rosaceae), Tilia tomentosa (Tiliaceae), Celtis occidentalis (Ulmaceae) i Vitis vinifera
(Vitaceae).
pseudomagnoliarum (Kuwana), Eulecanium tiliae (L.), Parthenolecanium corni (Bouche), P.
persicae (Fabricius), P. rufulum (Cockerel), Physokermes piceae (Schrank), P. hemycriphus
(Dalman), Pulvinaria hydrangeae Steinweden i P. vitis (L.). Pored toga, izolovane su iz štitova i
egzuvija pet vrsta familije Diaspididae: Aulacaspis rosae (Bouche), Diaspidiotus perniciosus
(Comstock), Lepidosaphes ulmi (L.), Pseusdalacaspis pentagona (Targ.-Tozz.) i Unaspis euonymi
(Comstock). Utvrđeno je prisustvo 12 vrsta fitozeida: Amblyseius andersoni (Chant), Euseius
finlandicus (Ouds.), Kampimodromus aberrans (Ouds.), Neoseiulella tiliarum (Ouds.),
Paraseiulus soleiger (Ribaga), P. talbi (Athias-Henriot), P. triporus (Chant & Yoshida-Shaul),
Phytoseius echinus Wainstein & Arutunjan, P. macropilis (Banks), P. ribagai Athias-Henriot,
Typhlodromus pyri Scheuten i T. rhenanus (Ouds.).
813 identifikovanih jedinki fitozeida, najbrojnije su bile iste četiri vrste - E. finlandicus
(36,53%), N. tiliarum (34,44%), A. andersoni (17,84%) i T. rhenanus (5,04%); preostale vrste
fitozeida zajedno su činile svega 6,15 % pregledanog materijala. Najveći broj vrsta fitozeida
nađen je pod štitovima P. corni (8), E. tiliae (7), P. pentagona (5) i A. rosae (4).

AB - Scale insects from the Coccidae family are significant pests that can be found on a
wide variety of plants. They are widely distributed in the world and cause significant
economic damage to fruit trees, ornamental and forest trees. In our country, these
species were mostly registered as pests in extensive orchards or on physiologically
weakened plants. However, in recent years, their increasingly frequent occurrence has
been noted in intensive plantations, where they occur in numerous populations and
with increased damage. The presence, intensity of scale insect from the Coccidae
family and symptoms of damage were determined in the period from 2014. to 2017. in
the territory of Serbia by visual inspection of plants and the sampling method of
attacked plant material from orchards. In fruit orchards from an area of one hectare,
five trees were examined diagonally. The intensity of attack on plants was assessed
according to the Borchsenius scale (1963). In Serbia, four species from the Coccidae
family are present on fruit trees: Parthenolecanium corni, Parthenolecanium persicae,
Sphaerolecanium prunastri, Eulecanium tiliae. The intensity of scale insects attack
ranged from 1 (one individual present) to 3 and 4 (numerous colonies present). Scale
insects feeding on the plants overground parts and honeydew secretion, leads to leaves
wilting, plant growth and development slowdown, dying of the branches as well as
whole plants.

prisustvo larve predatora Anthribus nebulosus (Coleoptera: Anthribidae) i larvi parazitoida Pseudorhopus testaceus
(Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae).
smanjenju brojnosti populacija Ph. hemicryphus.
lutkama poliembrionijskog parazitoida P. testaceus.
poljoprivrednu zoologiju Poljoprivrednog fakulteta u Beogradu.
jajima Ph. hemicryphus.

AB - San Jose scale, Comstockaspis perniciosa (Comstock) is polyphagous species which inhabits many fruit trees, most commonly apple, pear and cherry. It is a quarantine pest in many countries. However, in Serbia it has recently lost this status. Presence of San Jose scale on fruits intended for export is not allowed. Presence and harmfulness of C. perniciosa were evaluated on cherry (Prunus avium L.) during 2020/21 in Radmilovac locality. The orchard was in the seventh year of age and the dominant variety was Burlat. In order to reduce scale population, late winter treatment with mineral oil (Nitropol, 1.5%) was done on 25.02.2021 in phenophase swelling buds. Infested twigs were sampled troughout the season. After sampling, the abundance of scales, as well as their vitality, were monitored in laboratory using binocular. San Jose scale develops three generation per year and overwinters as first instar larvae on woody parts of the cherry. In the observed locality, all above-ground parts of the plant were heavily infested. Feeding of such a high number of individuals caused redness, yellowing and drying of the leaves as well as drying of thin twigs. The symptoms on trunk and branches were manifested in the form of wounds from which amber-colored resin is excreted. It darkens over time and the bark of the tree cracks and dries. Damaged plants are physiologically weakened, do not have sufficient nutrients for the formation of fertile buds, they are more susceptible to the attacks of other pests and diseases, as well as to frosts. Since scale is easily transmitted by plant material, strict phytosanitary control and use of healthy plant material are the best preventive measures for controlling this pest. Late winter treatment of cherry trees is necessary measure for controling this pest. During this research, the use of mineral oil-based preparation has achieved good results, thus reducing populations of C. perniciosa to a minimum.

AB - Parthenolecanium persicae (Fabricius) (Hemiptera: Coccidae) is a paleartic species found on over 70 host plants, with the highest damage being recorded on grapevine and plums. In Serbia, this one is more abundant on extensive orchards or physiologically weakened plants. Bionomy of P. persicae was studied from 2015 to 2019 in three localities: Aleksandrovac, Belgrade and Neštin. Sampling of plant material was performed throughout the year, in interval of 7 to 10 days during vegetation, or, once in month during plant dormancy. From each infested plant, five one- or two- years old twigs 20 cm long were taken. Sampled plant material with scale insect colonies was brought to the laboratory, where it was examined for scale insects presence and then deposited in glass cylinders for the rearing of scales insects and natural enemies. The determination of the eclosed parasitoids was performed by eng. Aleksandar Stojanović. P. persicae developed one generation per year and overwintered as second instar larva on grapevine shoot and trunk. Females emerged during April and early May, and oviposition was recorded in mid-May. Each female layed on average 2001 ± 3,4 white eggs. First instar larvae appeared during June. In the summer, they feed mainly on young shoots, leaves and leaf petioles. In late August and early September, second instar larvae were formed, which continue to feed until October when they migrated to shoots or hidden places on the trunks where they overwintered. Numerous colonies of P. persicae was recorded in the Belgrade locality, which resulting in discoloration, drying and premature leaf fall. In the vineyards of Aleksandrovac and Neštin, scale insects was present on individual plants, with no visible symptoms of damage. During our research, on the P. persicae we found 7 species of natural enemies. Of the parasitoids (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea), 6 species were eclosed: Coccophagus lycimnia (Walker), Eunotus obscurus Masi, Marietta picta (Andre) (Aphelinidae), Metaphycus dispar (Mercet), Metaphycus insidiosus (Mercet), Metaphycus maculipennis (Timberlake), (Encyrtidae), and from predators, the species Exochomus quadripustulatus L. (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae).

AB - Scale insects from the family Coccidae are considered as very important pests in agriculture, forestry and horticulture, so they require regular monitoring and application of control measures, which are still largely based on the use of synthetic insecticides. However, one of the potentially use-
ful ways to control these insects is to use natural enemies, among which predators play an important
role, which has initiated the study of their diversity and the role in regulating scales insects number.
During 2015-2018 year, predatory larvae were collected from field together with infested plant material, and then reared in the laboratory until the imago eclosion, individually in petri dishes or jars, in order to prevent the cannibalism. After the edosion, the imagoes have been prepared and determined. The species determination was carried out based on appropriate keys or with the assis¬tance of experts - taxonomists,
During the research, 16 species of scale insects from Coccidae family, 17 species of predators from 7 families and 5 insects orders were collected and reared.
The largest number of species (10) belongs to the order of Coleoptera: Anthribus fasciattis For¬ster and Anthribus nebulosus Forster (Anthribidae), Chilocorus bipustulatus (L.), Chili:wows renipustu¬lotus (Scriba), Coccinefia septempunctata L,, Exochomus quadripustulatus 1, Harmonia axyridis Ilippodamia variegata (Goeze), Propylea quatuerciecimpunctata (L.) and Scymnus abietis Paykull (Coccinel I idae).
Three species are from the Hemiptera order: Oxycarenus lavaterae (Fabricius) (Lygaeidae), Atrac¬rotomus mail (Meyer-Dur) and Deraeocoris ruber (L.) (Miridae).
From the order of Dermaptera, two species were reared, Anehnura bipunctata (Fabricius) and I orticula auricularia L. (Forficulidae),
One species was reared from the order of Diptera, Leucopornyia siiesiaca (Egger) (Chamaemyii¬dae), and one from order Neuroptera, Chrysoperla cameo (Stephens) (Chrysopidae).
Seven species of predators were found on scale insects from the Coccidae family for the first time in Serbia: Harmonic axyridis, Hippodamia varieguta, Propylea quatuordecimpunctata, Anechura lifpunctata, Forncula auricularia, Oxycarenus Iavaterae and Deraeocoris rube!. The spedes Anechura litpunctata and Oxycarenus /avaterae were determined for the first time as Coccidae predators, not only in Serbia, but also in the world.
The most effective predator of soft scale insects in Serbia is A. nebuiosus, reared from the colo-nies of Euieranium tiliae (L.), Parthenoiecanium comi (13DucMi), Parthenolecanium rufulurn (Cockerell), Physokerrnes hemicryphus (Dalman) and Physokermes piceae (Schrank). The highest efficacy was ibserved at Ph. piceae (53.24-58.03%), and the lowest at P. rufulum (10.65.12,78%).

AB - European fruit lecaniurn, Parthenoleconium corni (Bouche, 1844) (Hem iptera: Coccidae) is a cm mopolitan, polyphagous species, It represents significant pests of woody plants, especially Worm and fruit trees from the Prunus genus. Occasionally it appears on the plums in numerous colonial when it causes significant damage.
In our country, the mass propagation of this species was registered in the 1930s and 195(1.. when more than 16 million and 4.5 million plum trees were cut down. Due to great damage,13k)Ifill ical protection measures were studied during this period and it was determined that many natural enemies play a significant role in reducing the populations of this pest. Since then, there has been no more detailed research of distribution and natural enemies of this species at the Serbia territory
The research was carried out in the period from 2015 to 2017 at 27 locations in Serbia. SampliLii plant material with scale insect colonies was brought to the laboratory, where it was examined kir scale insects presence and then deposited in glass cylinders for the cultivation of natural enemies.
Scale insects were registered in all examined locations in Serbia, on 30 species of plants from I 0 botanical families, including different types of fruit trees, forest and decorative plants.
During our research, on the P. corni we found 19 types of natural enemies, including 12 spetli.s of parasitoids and 7 species of predators.
Of the parastoids (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea), three species of the Aphelinidae family were reared: Cocrophagus lycininia (Walker), Coccophagus scuteliaris (Dalman), Coccophagus shiliongentit (Hayat and Singh) and nine species from the Encyrtidae family: Anagyrus schoenherri (Westwood), Blastothrix Iongipennis Howard, Cheiloneurus daviger Thomson, Metaphycus dispar (Mercet), Mr t aphycus insidiosus (Mercet), Metaphyrus maculipennis (Timberlake), Metaphycus melanostomatut (Timberlake), Metaphycus punctipes (Dalman) and Metaphycus zebratus (Mercet), The species shi/longensis, was determined for the first time in Serbia. These species of parasitoids reduced tlw number of scale insects populations by 8-56%.
Following predators, were reared: Anthribus nebuiosus Forster, Anthribus fasciatus Fur t.it (Coleoptera: Anthribidae), Chilocorus bipustulatus (L), Chilocorus renipuswiatus (Scriba). Excidlonni% quadripustulatus L, Harrnonia axyridis Pallas (Coleoptera: Coccinelliclae) and Chtysoperia carnea phens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae). The most effective predatory species is A. nebulosus which hos reduced the number of scale insects population by 21-24%,

AB - During the years 2016-2018, the natural enemies of Physokermes species, namely, Physokermes hemicryphus
(Dalman) and Ph. piceae (Schrank), were studied in Sebia. Populations of both species of the spruce bud scale
were found at a very high level. Five species of predators were reared from Ph. hemicryphus colonies: Anthribus
nebulosus Forster (Anthribidae), Exochomus quadripustulatus L., Scymnus abietis Paykull, Harmonia axyridis Pallas
(Coccinellidae) and Chrysoperla carnea (Chrysopidae). The same predator species were reared from Ph. piceae
colonies. The parasitoid species Aphycoides clavellatus (Dalm.), Microterys lunatus (Dalm.), Pseudorhopus testaceus
(Ratzeburg) (Encyrtidae), Coccophagus lycimnia Walker (Aphelinidae) and Aprostocetus sp. (Eulophidae) were
reared from both scale colonies while Eurytoma sp. (Eurytomidae), Metaphycus unicolor Hoffer (Encyrtidae) and
Pachyneuron muscarum L. (Pteromalidae) were reared only from Ph. hemicryphus colonies. Coccophagus piceae
Erdos (Aphelinidae) and Metaphycus stagnarum Hoffer (Encyrtidae) were identified as parasitoid associated only
with Ph. piceae. The most abudant predator species in both scale colonies, Ph. hemicryphus and Ph. piceae, was A.
nebulosus (45,72% and 57,11% respectively), while poliembrionic parasitoid, P. testaceus was the most abundant
parasitoid species (42,02% and 28,25% respectively). Shannon-Weaver diversity index and Equitability index were
used for analyzing the diversity of natural enemies on each locality. The calculated values of the Shannon-Weaver
were as follows, Ph. hemicryphus: 0,3-1,33 and Ph. piceae: 0,37-0,87. Equitability index varied from 0,02 to 0,58 for
Ph. hemicryphus natural enemies and from 0,097 to 0,21 Ph. piceae natural enemies, which indicate the unequal
distribution of natural enemy species.

AB - Familija Coccidae pripada redu Hemiptera, natfamiliji Coccoidea.
štetočine voćaka, vinove loze i ukrasnih biljaka.
Coccus hesperidum (L.), Coccus pseudomagnoliarum (Kuwana), Neopulvinaria innumerabilis (Rathvon) i Pulvinaria
Coccus hesperidum, Eulecanium tiliae (L.), Parthenolecanium corni (Bouché), Parthenolecanium persicae (Fabricius)
i Spaerolecanium prunastri (Fonsc.)), na vinovoj lozi četiri vrste (Neopulvinaria innumerabilis, Parthenolecanium
corni, P. persicae i Pulvinaria vitis (L.)) a na šumskim i dekorativnim biljkama 13 vrsta štitastih vaši (C.
pseudomagnoliarum, Eulecanium tiliae, Parthenolecanium corni, Parthenolecanium fletcheri (Cockerell),
Parthenolecanium pomeranicum (Kawecki), Parthenolecanium rufulum (Cockerell), Physokermes hemicryphus

AB - Anthribus nebulosus Forster, 1770 (Coleoptera, Anthribidae) is a significant predator of soft scales from the Coccidae family. This paper presents data on the biology and efficacy of this species in Belgrade (Serbia) on five species of soft scales: Physokermes hemicryphus (Dalman), Physokermes piceae (Schrank), Eulecanium tiliae (L.), Parthenolecanium corni (Bouche) and Parthenolecanium rufulum (Cockerell) (Hemiptera, Coccidae). The life cycles of A. nebulosus and soft scales are synchronized. In April, the female A. nebulosus lays an egg under the body of a female soft scale. The hatched larva feeds on the eggs of the scale insect, passes through three stages of development, and then pupates under the scale exoskeleton. The duration of the embryonic and postembryonic development of the predator on these species of scales is similar. The only difference is in the duration of the development of third-stage larvae, which is reflected in the duration of the total development of the species that ranges from 43 to 49 days. The percentage of efficacy of A. nebulosus statistically significantly varies (p lt 0.001) among the studied species of soft scales, except between Ph. hemicryphus and E. tiliae. The highest percentage of efficacy (58.03%) was found in Ph. piceae, and the lowest (10.65%) in P. rufulum.

AB - Numerous colonies of the brown soft scale, Coccus hesperidum (L.) (Hemiptera: Coccidae) were registered on chayote, Sechium edule (Jacq.) Sw. (Cucurbitaceae) in Belgrade area, locality Zemun. Damages were caused by all development stages of scale which feed by sucking plant sap from leaves. In the case of high infestation, scales feed on fruits. As the result of scale feeding, numerous chlorotic spots occur, whicher merge into bright strips usually located by leaf nerves. In case of high level infestation, bright stripes cover the entire leaf surface which leads to discoloration of the leaves. Furthermore, brown soft scales produce large amounts of honeydew where sooty moulds develop, causing reduction of the photosynthesis and transpiration, as well as aesthetic appearance of the plant. This paper presents data on Coccus hesperidum morph ological-biological characteristics, as one of the chayote pests.

AB - Small spruce bud scale, Physokermes hemicryphus (Dalman) (Hemiptera: Coccidae), is a Holarctic, oligophagous species developing on plants of the genera Picea and Abies (Pinaceae). It is a serious pest of Picea abies in Serbia, which causes drying and falling of needles, branches and even drying of entire plants. A study of the bionomy of Ph. hemicryphus was carried out at five locations in Serbia in 2016 and 2017. Ph. hemicryphus was found to develop one generation annually and to overwinter as second-instar larvae on spruce branches. Adults emerge at the beginning of April and oviposition takes place at the beginning of May. Larvae hatch in the second half of May; during summer they feed on spruce needles and moult into second-instar larvae in September. Scale populations are controlled by a number of natural enemies. Five species of parasitoid wasps were reared: Coccophagus lycimnia (Walker) (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae), Metaphycus unicolor Hoffer, Microterys lunatus (Dalman), Pseudorhopus testaceus (Ratzeburg) (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) and Pachyneuron muscarum (L.) (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae), as well as five predatory species: Anthribus nebulosus Forster (Coleoptera: Anthribidae), Exochomus quadripustulatus L., Scymnus abietis Paykull, Harmonia axyridis Pallas (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) and Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae). The most efficient parasitoid of Ph. hemicryphus was P. testaceus, reducing scale populations up to 28.97%, while the most efficient predator was A. nebulosus with an efficacy of up to 51.72%.
Odgajeno je pet vrsta parazitoidnih osica: Coccophagus lycimnia (Walker) (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae), Metaphycus unicolor Hoffer, Microterys lunatus (Dalman), Pseudorhopus testaceus (Ratzeburg) (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) i Pachyneuron muscarum (L.) (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae), kao i pet vrsta predatora: Anthribus nebulosus Forster (Coleoptera: Anthribidae), Exochomus quadripustulatus L., Scymnus abietis Paykull, Harmonia axyridis Pallas (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) i Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae).

abstract = "Small spruce bud scale, Physokermes hemicryphus (Dalman) (Hemiptera: Coccidae), is a Holarctic, oligophagous species developing on plants of the genera Picea and Abies (Pinaceae). Five species of parasitoid wasps were reared: Coccophagus lycimnia (Walker) (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae), Metaphycus unicolor Hoffer, Microterys lunatus (Dalman), Pseudorhopus testaceus (Ratzeburg) (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) and Pachyneuron muscarum (L.) AB - Leucopomyia silesiaca (Egger, 1862) is a small, greyish-black fly from Chamaemyiidae (Diptera) family. The larvae of this species prey on the eggs in the ovisac of scale insects from the Coccidae, Pseudococcidae, Eriococcidae families. In Serbia, the presence of Leucopomyia silesiaca larvae have been registered in the ovisacs of two soft scale species, namely: Pulvinaria vitis on grapevine, and Pulvinaria floccifera on ivy. The larvae which feed by sucking the eggs have been found in May, pupae at the end of May, and imago at the beginning of June. The whole fly life cycle was completed in the ovisacs of these scale insects. The species was determined on the basis of the fly's morphological traits, especially male genitalia. In one ovisac of P. vitis, there were from one to four fly larvae, while in the ovisac of P. floccifera, only one larva was present. The fly larvae were present in 710% of the examined P. vitis ovisacs, and in 15% of the examined P. floccifera ovisacs.
