AB  - Paprika (Capsicum annuum L.) spada u grupu najznačajnijih povrtarskih
kultura. Ima visoku hranljivu i biološku vrednost. Plod paprike može da se
koristi u svežem ili prerađenom obliku i predstavlja bogat izvor vitamina, mineralnih materija i drugih organskih jedinjenja potrebnih u savremenoj
ishrani. Proizvodnja kvalitetnog rasada je preduslov za visok prinos i
nutritivni sastav ploda paprike. U ovom radu je ispitivan uticaj
mikrobioloških preparata EM Naturally active i EM-5 Vital plant purple (EM
i EM-5) na kvalitet i morfološke karakteristike rasada paprike sorte Župska
rana, stvorene u Institutu za povrtarstvo Smederevska Palanka. Utvrđene su
statistički značajne razlike u vrednostima ispitivanih parametara u sva tri
tretmana sa primenjenim mikrobiološkim preparatima u odnosu na kontrolnu
varijantu. Najveće vrednosti su zabeležene u T3 tretmanu koji je obuhvatao
tri apliciranja preparatima (zalivanjem i folijarno), u intervalu na svakih 7 dana, a vrlo značajne razlike su izražene kod izmerenih parametara težina biljke (13,20 g) i lisne površine (130,15 cm2).
AB  - Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) belongs to the group of the most
important vegetable crops. It has a high nutritional and biological value.
Pepper fruit can be used in fresh or processed form and is a rich source of vitamins, minerals and other organic compounds needed in modern
nutrition. The production of quality seedlings is a prerequisite for a high
yield and nutritional composition of the pepper fruit. In this paper, the influence of microbiological preparations (EM and EM-5) on the quality
and morphological characteristics of pepper seedlings of the variety Župska rana, created at the Institute for Vegetables Crops Smederevska
Palanka, was investigated. Statistically significant differences were found
in the values of the examined parameters in all three treatments with the applied microbiological preparations compared to the control variant. The highest values were recorded in the T3 treatment, which included three applications of preparations (watering and foliar) at an interval of every 7 days, and there are very significant differences expressed in the measured
parameters of plant weight (13.20 g) and leaf area (130.15 cm2).

AB  - Usmeravajući selekciju kupusa prema potrebama tržišta u kvalitetu u prinosu
i otpornosti u Institutu za povrtarstvo S. Palanka selekcionisano je 7 linija iz populacije
Izpscc u kojoj je detektovan visok sadržaj šećera i to u rasponu od 6,1 do
9,6%, a prosek je 3,8 - 4,2%. Selekcija linija započeta je metodom individualnog
odabiranja iz populacije, a nastavljena je Pedigre metodom. Osnovni kriterijumi
pri selekciji bili su; erektofilna rozeta, listovi sa dugačkom lisnom drškom koja
olakšava fototropizme, dva ovojna lista zelene boje, unutrašnji kočan kraći od 50%
visine glavice i sadržaj ukupnih šećera viši od 7,5 %, dobro zbijena glavica kao i
masa glavice preko 1,6 kg. Ogled sa 7 selekcionisanih linija: G1, G2, G3, G4, G5,
G6 i G7 postavljen je u 3 ponavljanja na oglednom polju Instituta za povrtartsvo
tokom 2020, 2021. i 2022. Pored osobina: glavice, rozete i uniformnosti, praćena
je stabilnost sadržaja ukupnžnih šećera (%). AMMI analiza (glavni aditivni efekti
i višestruka interakcija) za osobinu ukupnog sadržaja šećera pokazala je najveću
stabilnost linije G3, dok su G2 i G5 bile sledeće u rangiranju po stabilnosti, u svim
ispitivanim sezonama. Sadržaj šećera kod G3 u 2020. iznosio je prosečno 8,5%, u
2021 8,9%, dok je sadržaj šećera u 2022. godini bio najniži i prosečno je iznosio
7,7%. Najveći sadržaj šećera izmeren je kod linije G5 u 2021 i iznosio je 9,6%.
Odabrane linije G3, G2 i G5, visokog genetičkog potencijala za sadržaj šečera iskorišćene
su kao očinske linije u procesu selekcije visokoprinosnih, otpornih i slatkih
srednje kasnih i kasnih hibrida kupusa koji se očekuju na tržištu od 2027. godine.
AB  - Directing the selection of cabbage according to the needs of the market in terms
of quality, yield and resistance, 7 lines from the Izpscc population were selected in
the S. Palanka Institute of Vegetables, in which high sugar content was detected,
ranging from 6.1 to 9.6%, and the average is 3.8 - 4.2%. The selection of lines was
started with the method of individual selection from the population, and continued
with the Pedigree method. The basic selection criteria were; erectophilic rosette,
leaves with a long petiole that facilitates phototropism, two sheathing leaves of green
color, inner stem shorter than 50% of the height of the head and content of total
sugars higher than 7.5%, well-compacted head as well as head weight over 1.6 kg.
An experiment with 7 selected lines: G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6 and G7 was set up in
3 replications on the experimental field of the Institute of Vegetables during 2020,
2021 and 2022. In addition to the characteristics: heads, rosettes and uniformity,
stability was monitored content of total sugars (%). AMMI analysis (additive main
effects and multiplicative interaction) for the trait of total sugar content showed
the highest stability of the G3 line, while G2 and G5 were ranked next in terms
of stability, in all investigated seasons. The sugar content of G3 in 2020 averaged
8.5%, in 2021 8.9%, while the sugar content in 2022 was the lowest and averaged
7.7%. The highest sugar content was measured for the G5 line in 2021 and was
9.6%. Selected lines G3, G2 and G5, with high genetic potential for sugar content,
were used as paternal lines in the selection process of high-yielding, resistant and
sweet mid-late and late cabbage hybrids expected on the market from 2027.

Changes in quality indicators of different cucumber hybrid seeds during five years of aging

AB  - The aim of the research was to evaluate the effect of year and seed hybrids on the most significant indicators of the seed quality of cucumber. Testing the quality of seeds of three different hybrids of cucumber: Centauro F1, Edona F1 and Solatio F1 was carried out during a five-year period (2018 - 2022). Analysis of germination energy, seed germination, abnormal seedlings and dead seeds cucumber showed highly significant differences (r<0.01) under the influence of individual factors of the year (Y) and hybrid seed (H), as well as their interaction (Y × H). The seed germination of the examined hybrids by year slowly decreases and is the lowest at 94% in the fifth year (2022). The strongest positive correlation was established between germination energy and seed germination (r = 0.95635, p<0.001) and between abnormal seedlings and dead seeds (r = 0.92301, p<0.001). As expected, a negative and highly significant (p < 0.001) correlation was established between germination energy and: abnormal seedlings (r = -0.94535) and dead seeds (r = -0.93255). Likewise, a strongest negative (p < 0.001) correlation was found between seed germination and: abnormal seedlings (r = - 0.97497) and dead seeds (r = -0.98545). The obtained results indicate that the germination energy and seed germination of highly hybrid conventional cucumber seeds decreases significantly after the third year of aging, but only in the case of the Edona F1 hybrid.
AB  - Cilj istraživanja je bio da se izvrši ocena uticaja godine i hibrida semena na najznačajnije pokazatelje kvaliteta semena krastavca. Dobijeni rezultati treba da daju doprinos razumevanju smanjenja vrednosti pokazatelja kvaliteta visoko hibridnog semena krastavca tokom starenja. Ispitivanje kvaliteta semena tri različita hibrida krastavca: Centauro F1, Edona F1 i Solatio F1, izvedena su tokom pet godina (2018 - 2022). Analiza energije klijanja, klijavosti, nenormalnih klijanaca i mrtvog semena krastavca pokazala je visoko značajne razlike (р<0,01) pod uticajem pojedinačnih faktora godina (A) i hibrida semena (B), kao i njihove interakcija (A × B). Prosečna klijavost semena ispitivanih hibrida po godinama sporo opada i najniža je 94% u petoj (2022) godini. Dobijene vrednosti ukupne klijavosti posle pet godina ocenjivanja su visoke, jer prelaze zakonom dozvoljeni minimum od 80% za stavljanje semena krastavca u promet. Utvrđena je jaka pozitivna korelacija između energije klijanja i klijavosti semena (r = 0,95635, p<0,001) i između broja nenormalnih klijanaca i mrtvog semena (r = 0,92301, p<0,001). Kao što se očekivalo, konstatovana je visoka negativna korelacija (p < 0.001) između energije klijanja: procenta nenormalnih klijanaca (r = -0,94535) i mrtvog semena (r = -0,93255). Takođe, jaka negativna korelacija (p < 0,001) konstatovana je između klijavosti semena: nenormalnih klijanaca (r = - 0,97497) i mrtvog semena (r = -0,98545). Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju da se energija klijanja i ukupna klijavost visoko hibridnog konvencionalnog semena krastavca značajno smanjuje tek od treće godine starenja, ali samo kod hibrida Edona F1.

Testing the quality of seeds of three different hybrids of cucumber: Centauro F1, Edona F1 and Solatio F1 was carried out during a five-year period (2018 - 2022). Analysis of germination energy, seed germination, abnormal seedlings and dead seeds cucumber showed highly significant differences (r<0.01) under the influence of individual factors of the year (Y) and hybrid seed (H), as well as their interaction (Y × H). The seed germination of the examined hybrids by year slowly decreases and is the lowest at 94% in the fifth year (2022). The strongest positive correlation was established between germination energy and seed germination (r = 0.95635, p<0.001) and between abnormal seedlings and dead seeds (r = 0.92301, p<0.001). As expected, a negative and highly significant (p < 0.001) correlation was established between germination energy and: abnormal seedlings (r = -0.94535) and dead seeds (r = -0.93255). Likewise, a strongest negative (p < 0.001) correlation was found between seed germination and: abnormal seedlings (r = - 0.97497) and dead seeds (r = -0.98545). The obtained results indicate that the germination energy and seed germination of highly hybrid conventional cucumber seeds decreases significantly after the third year of aging, but only in the case of the Edona F1 hybrid., Cilj istraživanja je bio da se izvrši ocena uticaja godine i hibrida semena na najznačajnije pokazatelje kvaliteta semena krastavca. Dobijeni rezultati treba da daju doprinos razumevanju smanjenja vrednosti pokazatelja kvaliteta visoko hibridnog semena krastavca tokom starenja. Ispitivanje kvaliteta semena tri različita hibrida krastavca: Centauro F1, Edona F1 i Solatio F1, izvedena su tokom pet godina (2018 - 2022). Analiza energije klijanja, klijavosti, nenormalnih klijanaca i mrtvog semena krastavca pokazala je visoko značajne razlike (р<0,01) pod uticajem pojedinačnih faktora godina (A) i hibrida semena (B), kao i njihove interakcija (A × B). Prosečna klijavost semena ispitivanih hibrida po godinama sporo opada i najniža je 94% u petoj (2022) godini. Dobijene vrednosti ukupne klijavosti posle pet godina ocenjivanja su visoke, jer prelaze zakonom dozvoljeni minimum od 80% za stavljanje semena krastavca u promet. Utvrđena je jaka pozitivna korelacija između energije klijanja i klijavosti semena (r = 0,95635, p<0,001) i između broja nenormalnih klijanaca i mrtvog semena (r = 0,92301, p<0,001). Kao što se očekivalo, konstatovana je visoka negativna korelacija (p < 0.001) između energije klijanja: procenta nenormalnih klijanaca (r = -0,94535) i mrtvog semena (r = -0,93255). AB  - Institut za povrtarstvo u Smederevskoj Palanci ostvaruje najznačajniji deo prihoda od prodaje semena paprika svog i slobodnog sortimenta.
Praćen je prinos semena ukupno 21 komercijalne sorti i hibrida od 2010.
do 2020 godine. Kalkulacija proizvodnje semena paprike zasnovana je na
11 godišnjem proseku prinosa svih paprika koje su proizvedene u
kooperaciji Instituta. Prosečan prinos semena paprike od 2010-2020.
godine je varijabilan i kreće se od 123,8 kg ha-1 do 303,4 kg ha-1, dok je ukupan prosečni prinos posmatran u svim sezonama 177,8 kg ha-1.
Prosečan koeficijent varijacije prinosa semena iznosio je 0,59 i njegova
visoka vrednost pokazuje veliki uticaj agroekoloških uslova u sezoni, kao
i tehnologije gajenja paprike i pre svega uloženih inputa. Proizvodnja
semena paprike se pokazala rentabilnom jer se ostvaruje prosečna dobit po hektaru u visini od 15.403,00 €. Ostvarena je visoka ekonomičnost
proizvodnje i iznosila je Ep=2,39, a na svakih 100 € prihoda ostvarena
dobit od 58,41 €.
AB  - The Institute for Vegetable Crops in Smederevska Palanka realizes the most important part of its income from the sale of pepper seeds of its own and free assortment. The seed yield of a total of 21 commercial varieties and hybrids was monitored from 2010 to 2020. The calculation of pepper
seed production is based on the 11-year average yield of all peppers

AB  - Cilj rada je bio da se utvrdi uticaj sorte i tretmana semena na glavne pokazatelje
kvaliteta semena tri sorte paprika (Merak, Ordesa i PWC 15001). Ogled je izveden
2022. godine u Laboratoriji za kontrolu kvaliteta semena i sadnog materijala Instituta
za zaštitu bilja i životnu sredinu u Beogradu. Kao materijal u ogledu korišćeno
je seme sorti paprika proizvedeno u 2022. godini. Tretman semena je izveden sa
1% rastvorom natrijum hipohlorida u trajanju od 10 minuta, zatim je ispirano i
osušeno. Ispitivanje klijavosti semena izvršeno je standardnom laboratorijskom
metodom na filter papiru navlaženom 0,2% vodenim rastvorom KNO3 na 4 x 100
semena. Seme je inkubirano 14 dana na temperaturi 20 - 30ºC i relativnoj vlažnosti
vazduha od 95%. Sedmog dana inkubacije ocenjena je energija klijanja, a
14 dana ukupna klijavost. Zdravstvena ispravnost semena ocenjivana je vizuelnom
metodom. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju da su pojedinačni faktori sorta i tretman
semena značajno uticali (p< 0,01) na energiju klijanja, ukupnu klijavost i procenat
bolesnog semena, dok njihov uticaj na procenat nenormalnog semena nije utvrđen.
Takođe, uticaj interakcije faktora na posmatrane pokazatelje kvaliteta semena je
izostao. Primenjeni tretman na semenu uticao je u proseku na povećanje energije
klijanja i ukupne klijavosti za po 4% kod sve tri ispitivane sorte paprika. Kod sorti
paprika utvrđeno je prisustvo samo patogena Alternaria sp., čija se zastupljenost
kretala od 6 do 9% u varijantama bez tretmana semena (kontrola). Primenom
ovog tretmana kod ispitivanih sorti procenat zaraženog semena Alternaria sp.
se značajno smanjio ispod 5%, što predstavlja zakonski maksimum za stavljanje
semena paprike u promet.
AB  - The aim of the work was to determine the influence of variety and seed treatment
on the main indicators of seed quality of three pepper varieties. The experiment
was carried out in 2022 at the Laboratory for Quality Control of Seeds and Planting
Material of the Institute for Plant Protection and the Environment in Belgrade. As
material in the experiment, seeds of pepper varieties produced in 2022 were used.
The seeds were treated with a 1% sodium hypochlorite solution for 10 minutes, then
rinsed and dried. Seed germination was tested using a standard laboratory method
on filter paper moistened with a 0.2% aqueous solution of KNO3 on 4 x 100 seeds.
The seeds were incubated for 14 days at a temperature of 20 - 30ºC and a relative
humidity of 95%. On the seventh day of incubation, the energy of germination was
evaluated, and on the 14th, the total germination, that is, the number of typical seedlings.
The healthiness of the seeds was assessed by the visual method. The obtained
results indicate that the individual factors of variety and seed treatment significantly
influenced (p< 0.01) the energy of germination, total germination and the percentage
of diseased seeds, while their influence on the percentage of abnormal seeds was
not determined. Also, the influence of the interaction of factors on the observed
indicators of seed quality was absent. The treatment applied to the seeds affected on
increase in the energy of germination and total germination by 4% in all three tested
pepper varieties. In pepper varieties, the presence of only the pathogen Alternaria
sp. was determined, whose prevalence ranged from 6 to 9% in varieties without
seed treatment (control). By applying this treatment to the investigated varieties,
the percentage of infected seeds of Alternaria sp. has significantly decreased below
5%, which is the legal maximum for placing pepper seeds on the market.

AB  - Globalno zagrevanje, zagađenje životne sredine, gubitak biološke raznolikosti
biljnih vrsta su pojave koje pokreću nove trendove i debate o ljudskom društvu.
Održivi razvoj je novi koncept u svetu koji treba da zadovolji potrebe ljudskog
društva uz očuvanje i unapređenje prirodnih resursa. Indikatori održivog razvoja
su glavni alati u sprovođenju mera očuvanja prirodnih resursa. U poljoprivredi
jedan od indikatora su štete nastale primenon sintetičkih sredstava. Primena novih
tehnologija bez upotrebe hemijskih agenasa u zaštiti useva je mera koja treba da
umanji nastale ekološke gubitke. Etarska ulja su jedan od najznačajniji prirodnih
metabolita, sekundarni produkti aromatičnih biljaka koji se uspešno koriste kao
biopesticidi. Biološka aktivnost etarskih ulja u poljoprivredi ima antimikrobno i
herbicidno dejstvo. Efekti ulja zavise od pojedinačnih bioaktivnih komponenti.
U prirodi igraju važnu ulogu u zaštita biljaka kao antibakterijski, antivirusni, antifungalni,
insekticidni agensi. Kod većine korova, ulja kao tipični lipofili, prolaze
kroz ćelijski zid citoplazmatske membrane, remete strukturu njihovih različitih
slojeva polisaharida, masnih kiselina i fosfolipida i permeabiliziraju ih. Štete
od primene eteričnih ulja (EU) na biljkama ogledaju se kroz hloroze, nekroze i
inhibicije rasta. Značaj upotrebe ulja i drugih prirodnih metabolita ukazuje na
njihovu upotrebnu vrednost u održivoj poljoprivredi iako fiziološka aktivnost ulja
još uvek nije dovljno istražena.
AB  - Environmental problems such as global warming, pollution, and the decline of plant
species biodiversity are leading to new social trends and discussions. A relatively new
idea of global sustainable development aims to meet societal demands while protecting
and enhancing natural resources. The main tools used in the implementation of natural
resource protection measures are sustainable development indicators. One of these
indicators is the damage caused by the use of synthetic chemicals in agriculture. In
Serbia, agriculture is an important sector of the economy with different levels of technological
progress, from extensive to intensive. The degree of pollution and its impact
on the environment varies according to agricultural production. The challenges faced
by modern agricultural production in conditions of technological progress have led to
the intensification of production, but have also caused concern about maintaining the
natural balance of cultivated land and product quality. The application of innovative
technologies for crop protection without the use of chemical agents is a step that should
reduce the environmental damage caused. Among the most important natural metabolites
and secondary products of aromatic plants used as biopesticides are essential oils.
The biological activities of essential oils in agriculture have antimicrobial and herbicidal
effects. The various bioactive components of the oil determine its action. In nature, they
play an important role in protecting plants from bacteria, fungi, viruses and insects. In
most weeds, the oils penetrate the cytoplasmic membrane of the cell as typical lipophiles
and cause its multilayers of polysaccharides, fatty acids and phospholipids to lose
their structure and become permeable. Chlorosis, necrosis, and growth inhibition are
symptoms of damage caused by the application of essential oils to plants.
Although the physiological effects of the oil are not yet well studied, the importance
of its use and other natural metabolites indicates its value for sustainable agriculture.

AB  - Sortiment paprike obuhvata značajan broj različitih genotipova i spada u jedno od najpopularnijih povrća širom sveta. Ukupna klijavost značajno je bila viša kod genotipa feferone (88,5±0,17%), u odnosu na genotipove
tipa babure i pimiento u sezoni 2021. godine.
Parametar vlage semena statistički se značajno razlikovao kod genotipa babure (9,02±0,02%) i bio je viši u odnosu na ostale genotipove u 2021.
godini. Ukupna klijavost u 2022. godini bila je najviša kod feferone i iznosila je 85,83±0,33%, ali se nije statistički značajno razlikovao u
odnosu na genotip babure. Procenat vlage bio je najviši kod genotipa pimiento, iznosio je 10,13±0,02%. Zdravstvena ispravnost semena u
posmatranom periodu bila je u okviru propisanih granica.
AB  - Pepper assortment includes many different genotypes and represents
one of the most popular vegetables worldwide. Total germination was
significantly higher in the pepperoni genotype (88.5±0.17%), compared to
the babura and pimiento genotypes during the season 2021. The seed moisture parameter statistically significantly differed in the babura
genotype (9.02±0.02%) and was higher compared to the other genotypes
in 2021. The total germination rate in 2022 was the highest in pepperoni
and amounted to 85.83±0.33%, it was not statistically significantly different to the babura genotype. The percentage of moisture was the
highest in the pimiento genotype and was 10.13±0.02%. The seed health
in the observed period was within the prescribed limits.

AB  - Primena sintetičkih pesticida u zaštiti bilja se poslednjih godina sve više zamenjuje
ekološki prihvatljivim i zdravstveno bezbednim rešenjima, što podrazumeva i primenu
mikroorganizama kao biokontrolnih agenasa u suzbijanju biljnih bolesti i štetočina. Bacillus
velezensis je gram-pozitivna bakterija koju je moguće izolovati iz različitih niša, uglavnom
zemljišta, vode i korena biljaka. Kao rizobakterijski organizam poznat je po sposobnosti da
podstiče imunitet biljke u uslovima stresa, biotičke ili abiotičke prirode. Cilj ovog rada je
ispitivanje potencijala B. velezensis soja P64 poreklom sa semena paprike (sorta Župska
Rana) za suzbijanje fitopatogene bakterije Xanthomonas euvesicatoria, prouzrokovača
bakteriozne pegavosti paprike, u in vivo uslovima.
Eksperiment je postavljen na sorti paprike Župska rana gajenoj u poljskim uslovima
(lokalitet Čenta) na kojoj su izvedena dva tretmana, prvi u fenofazi razvoja listova, a drugi
tokom cvetanja. Izolat X22 X. euvesicatoria i B. velezensis soj P64 su gajeni na YDC i LB
podlozi, redom, i pripremljene su bakterijske suspenzije koncentracije 107 CFU mL-1 za
fitopatogena, odnosno 108 CFU mL-1 za antagonistu. Tretmani su podrazumevali folijarnu
primenu soja B. velezensis 48 h pre (preventivni tretman) i 48 h nakon inokulacije paprike
(prskanjem) sa X. euvesicatoria izolatom X22 (kurativni tretman). Eksperimentalna parcela je
redovno zalivana, a biljke su svakodnevno prskane vodom kako bi se obezbedili uslovi
vlažnosti koji pogoduju ostvarivanju i širenju infekcije. Ocena intenziteta zaraze je vršena
ukupno 6 puta, na svakih sedam dana od primene tretmana, korišćenjem skale 0-4 (0=bez
simptoma, 1=10% lezija na površini lista, 2=25%, 3=50-80% i 4=>80% površine lista sa
lezijama). Efikasnost primenjenih tretmana izračunata je preko Abbott-ove formule.
Efikasnost preventivnih tretmana sa B. velezensis sojem P64 se kretala od 74,43%, 7
dana posle tretmana (DPT), do 98,09% 49 DPT, uz intenzitet zaraze 4,72% prilikom prve
ocene, a 0,61% tokom poslednje ocene. Efikasnost kurativnih tretmana se kretala od 90,41%
7 DPT, do 97,43% 49 DPT, a intenzitet zaraze je bio 1,77% (7 DPT) odnosno 0,82% (49 DPT).
U kontroli je zabeležen intenzitet zaraze od 18,46%, 24,39%, 26,37%, 31,06%, 27,58%,
28,11% i 31,92% ocenjen 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 i 49 DPT, redom. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na
visok potencijal B. velezensis soja P64 u kontroli bakteriozne pegavosti paprike.

AB  - The expression of genes that induce the transformation of meristems into the reproductive stage in oilseed rape is realized in
conditions of low positive temperatures for a certain period of time. Such a flowering process is called the vernalization pathway.
A four-factor field trial with 6 genotypes of head cabbage was set up at the Institute of Vegetable Crops in Smederevska Palanka,
of which three parental genotypes were divergent by geographical origin: Scc, B and N, and three more F1 hybrids were selected
by diallel crossing: Scc x B, Scc x N and B x N. In order to achieve a different vegetative stage, seedlings were sown at three sowing
dates: August 15th, September 1st and September 15th. Transplanting was done on October 20th. The results of sowing head
cabbage within the sowing period for oilseed rape were the induction of the flower mechanism, the absence of the head formation
phenophase, and the realization of a stable seed yield. The experiment was performed in vivo in the control version and in the
treatment with gibberellic acid – GA3. The influence of all four factors: season, genotype, sowing date and GA3 treatment showed
statistical significance for the yield components as well as for the yield itself and seed quality. The three seasons in which the
experiment was evaluated differed in temperature during overwintering: 2010/2011 was moderately cold, 2011/2012 was
extremely cold, while 2012/2013 was warm. In the cold season, the seed yield was low, and reduced to the biological
maintenance of the species, while the highest seed yield was achieved in the third – warm (2012/2013) season in the first sowing
period. The experiment also confirmed the existence of an identical flower mechanism in the species Brassica napus L. and
Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.
AB  - Експресија гена који индукују трансформацију меристема у репродуктивни стадијум код уљане репице остварује се у
условима ниских позитивних температура у извесном трајању. Такав процес цветања назива се вернализациони пут. У
Институту за повртарство из Смедеревске Паланке постављен је четворофакторски пољски оглед са 6 генотипова купуса
главичара, од којих су три родитељска генотипа дивергентна по географском пореклу: Scc, B и N, а од њих је диалелним
укрштањем селекционисано још три F1 хибрида: Scc x B, Scc x N, и B x N. У циљу постизања различитог вегетативног
стадијума расада, сетва је вршена у три рока сетве: 15. август, 1. септембар и 15. септембар. Расађивање је вршено 20.
октобра. Резултат сетве купуса главичара у року сетве за уљану репицу била је индукција цветног механизма, изостанак
фенофазе формирања главице и реализација стабилног приноса семена. Оглед је постављен in vivo у контролној верзији
и у третману гиберелинском киселином – GA3. Утицај сва четири фактора: сезоне, генотипа, рока сетве и третмана GA3
показао је статистичку значајност на особине компоненте приноса, као и сам принос и квалитет семена. Три сезоне у
којима је оглед евалуиран биле су температурно различите у периоду презимљавања: 2010/2011 је била умерено
хладна, 2011/2012 је била изразито хладна, док је 2012/2013 била топла. У температурно хладној сезони принос семена
био је низак, сведен на биолошко одржавање врсте, док је највећи принос семена остварен у трећој – топлој (2012/2013)
сезони истраживања у првом року сетве. Оглед је потврдио и постојање идентичног цветног механизма код врста
Brassica napus L. и Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.

AB  - U radu je analizirana stabilnost osobine visina biljke 20 divergentnih
genotipova plavog patlidžana koji su deo kolekcije Instituta za povrtarstvo
Smederevska Palanka. Poljski mikroogledi su izvedeni na tri lokaliteta (Smederevska Palanka, Kusadak i Vranovo). Analiza varijanse AMMI
modela pokazala je da postoje značajne razlike između genotipova,
lokaliteta, kao i njihovih interakcija (G×E) za visinu biljke. Od ukupne
sume kvadrata, 91,6% variranja odnosio se na efekat genotipa dok se svega
4,11% variranja može pripisati efektu lokaliteta. Rezultati dobijeni u ovom istraživanju ukazuju da je 5 proučavanih genotipova pokazalo stabilnost
ove osobine na različitim lokalitetima. Na osnovu ASV vrednosti za visinu
biljke, zaključuje se da je najveća stabilnost utvrđena na lokalitetu Vranovo koji je po rangu na prvom mestu i sa koeficijentom AMMI stabilnosti 2,16.
AB  - In the experiment the stability of the trait plant height, for 20 divergent
eggplant genotypes from the GenBank of Institute for Vegetable crops Smederevska Palanka was analyzed. Field microtrials were carried out at three locations (Smederevska Palanka, Kusadak and Vranovo). The
analysis of variance of the AMMI model showed significant differences between genotypes, localities and their interactions (G×E) for plant height.
From the total sum of squares, 91.6% of the variation was related to the
genotype effect, while only 4.11% of the variation can be attributed to the
locality effect. The results obtained in this research indicate that 5 studied
genotypes showed the stability of this trait in different localities. Based on
the ASV value for plant height, it is concluded that the highest stability was
determined at the Vranovo location with an AMMI stability coefficient of
2.16.

AB  - Paprika (Capsicum annuum L.) kao komercijalna vrsta gaji se širom sveta.
Godišnja proizvodnja paprike dostigla je oko 3.9 miliona tona. Površine pod zasadima
paprike u Srbiji procenjene su na 10.278 ha u 2021. godini, dok je ukupna
proizvodnja iznosila 147.663 tone. U ovoj studiji vršeno je ispitivanje semena dva
genotipa paprike dobijenih sa lokacija Kula i Smederevska Palanka. Ispitivanje je
vršeno standardnim metodama za procenu klijavosti i zdravstvene ispravnosti
semena. Kvalitet semena paprike procenjen je na osnovu parametara klijanja, vlage
i zdravstvene ispravnosti semena za sezonu 2022 godine. Energija klijanja iznosila
je 75% (Strižanka) i 85% (Župska rana) za lokalitet Smederevska Palanka, dok je
za Kulu iznosila 65% (Strižanka) i 55% (Župska rana) (p<0.05). Ukupna klijavost
iznosila je 88% (Strižanka) i 90% (Župska Rana) za lokalitet u Smederevska Palanka,
dok je u Kuli iznosila 80% (Strižanka) i 70% (Župska Rana). Sadržaj vlage dostigao
je 11.5% i 11% za Strižanku i Župsku ranu, respektivno (p>0.05) sa lokaliteta u
Smederevskoj Palanci. U uzorcima dobijenih sa lokaliteta u Kuli sadržaj vlage je
iznosio 12.5% za Strižanku i 9.5% za Župsku ranu (p<0.05). Zdravstvena ispravnost
semena testirana je na Alternaria spp. i Fusarium spp. Procenat infekcije za
Strižanku i Župsku Ranu iznosio je 1% (Smederevska Palanka) (p>0.05), dok je u
Kuli iznosio 3% za Strižanku i 5% za Župsku Ranu (p<0.05). Dobijeni podaci za
parametre kvaliteta ukazuju na značajnu razliku između lokaliteta Smederevska
Palanka i Kula. Buduća istraživanja će biti vezana za analizu zemljista i ukupni
prinos po parceli na lokacijama Smederevska Palanka i Kula.
AB  - Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) as a commercial species is cultivated worldwide.
The annual production of pepper has reached approximately 3.9 million tons.
The area under pepper plants in Serbia were assessed at 10.278 ha in 2021, and
overall production at 147.663 tons. Seed testing of two genotypes of pepper from
two localities (Kula and Smederevska Palanka) was performed using standard
methods for assessing seed quality and health, based on germination parameters,
moisture and seed health obtained during 2022 season. Germination energy was
75% and 85% for Strizanka and Zupska Rana, in Smederevska Palanka, respectively.
In Kula, germination energy was statistically significantly lower and accounted
for 65% and 55% for Strizanka and Zupska Rana (p<0.05). Total germination for
Strizanka and Zupska rana was 88% and 90% in Smederevska Palanka, while at
Kula location it was 80% and 70%. The moisture content was 11.5% and 11% for
Strizanka and Zupska Rana, respectively (p>0.05) in Smederevska Palanka. The
moisture content in Kula was 12.5% and 9.5% for Strizanka and Zupska Rana,
respectively. Seed health was tested on phytopathogenic fungi Alternaria spp. and
Fusarium spp. For Strizanka and Zupska Rana amounted to 1% (Smederevska
Palanka) (p>0.05).While in Kula amounted to 3% and 5%, respectively (p<0.05)
and they were statistically significant (p<0.05). The obtained data of seed quality
parameters indicated a statistically significant difference between Smederevska
Palanka and Kula locations. Future research will be related to soil analysis and
total yield per plot at two locations.

overall production at 147.663 tons. Seed testing of two genotypes of pepper from
two localities (Kula and Smederevska Palanka) was performed using standard
methods for assessing seed quality and health, based on germination parameters,
moisture and seed health obtained during 2022 season. Germination energy was
75% and 85% for Strizanka and Zupska Rana, in Smederevska Palanka, respectively.
In Kula, germination energy was statistically significantly lower and accounted
for 65% and 55% for Strizanka and Zupska Rana (p<0.05). Total germination for
Strizanka and Zupska rana was 88% and 90% in Smederevska Palanka, while at
Kula location it was 80% and 70%. The moisture content was 11.5% and 11% for
Strizanka and Zupska Rana, respectively (p>0.05) in Smederevska Palanka. The
moisture content in Kula was 12.5% and 9.5% for Strizanka and Zupska Rana,
respectively. Seed health was tested on phytopathogenic fungi Alternaria spp. and
Fusarium spp. For Strizanka and Zupska Rana amounted to 1% (Smederevska
Palanka) (p>0.05).While in Kula amounted to 3% and 5%, respectively (p<0.05)
and they were statistically significant (p<0.05). The obtained data of seed quality
parameters indicated a statistically significant difference between Smederevska
Palanka and Kula locations. Future research will be related to soil analysis and
total yield per plot at two locations.",

AB  - The present study focused on detecting bacteria of the Xanthomonas spp. complex
(X. euvesicatoria, X. vesicatoria, X. perforans and X. gardneri) and examining their influence on
certain quality parameters of pepper seed collected from the territory of Smederevska Palanka
(Serbia). The analysis included 27 non-commercial pepper seed genotypes (including chili and
sweet pepper) collected in 2021. Several parameters of the quality of analyzed pepper seed
(germination energy, total germination, moisture and seed health) were determined. The results
showed that out of a total of 27 analyzed samples of pepper seed, the presence of X. euvesicatoria
was detected in 13 of them. The presence of X. vesicatoria, X. gardneri and X. perforans was not
confirmed. Germination energy of infected seed was 52-84%, and of bacteria-free seed 63-90%;
total germination of infected seed was 66-91%, and of bacteria-free seed 80-95%. Seed moisture
of infected seed samples was 6.1-12%, and of bacteria-free seed 6.2-8.1%. These parameters did
not show significant statistical difference (p>0.05). The presence of seed-borne fungi Fusarium
sp. accounted for up to 3% in 25 samples, while it was up to 6% in the remaining two; Alternaria
sp. ranked from 1-4% in 25 samples, and up to 5% in only two samples. The results led to a
conclusion that the bacterium X. euvesicatoria is the predominant pathogen of the Xanthomonas
spp. complex, but it did not affect the quality parameters of the tested pepper seed.
AB  - U ovom radu izvršena je detekcija bakterija iz kompleksa Xanthomonas (X. euvesicatoria, X.
vesicatoria, X. perforans i X. gardneri) i ispitan uticaj prisustva bakterija na određene parametre
kvaliteta semena paprike poreklom sa teritorije Smederevske Palanke (Srbija). Analiza je
obuhvatila 27 nekomercijalnih genotipova semena paprike (uključujući čili i slatku papriku)
prikupljenih u sezoni 2021. godine. U radu su ocenjeni parametri kvaliteta semena paprike i
to energija klijanja, ukupna klijavost, vlaga i zdravstvena ispravnost. Rezultati su pokazali da
je od ukupno 27 analiziranih uzoraka semena paprike, prisustvo X. euvesicatoria detektovano
kod ukupno 13 uzoraka. Prisustvo X. vesicatoria, X. gardneri i X. perforans nije utvrđeno
ni u jednom uzorku semena paprike. Energija klijanja zaraženog semena je iznosila od
52-84%, a kod semena bez prisustva bakterija od 63-90%; ukupna klijavost u zaraženom
semenu je bila od 66-91%, a u semenu bez prisustva bakterija 80-95%. Vlažnost semena u
zaraženim uzorcima je iznosila 6,1-12%, a u uzorcima bez prisustva bakterija između 6,2-8,1%.
Utvrđivani parametri kvaliteta se nisu značajno razlikovali na statističkom nivou (p>0,05).
Prisustvo fitopatogenih gljiva koje se prenose semenom je utvrđeno u svim uzorcima semena
paprike, i to Fusarium sp. do 3% kod ukupno 25 uzoraka, dok je kod dva uzorka zaraza bila i
do 6%; prisustvo Alternaria sp. je bilo od 1-4% kod ukupno 25, a kod dva uzorka više, do 5%.
Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju da je bakterija X. euvesicatoria dominantan patogen iz kompleksa
Xanthomonas vrsta, ali da utvrđeno prisustvo nije značajno uticalo na parametre kvaliteta
semena paprike

AB  - Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) as a commercial species includes a large number of different varieties and is one of the most popular vegetables around the world. Changes in the quality of the seeds of autochthonous varieties of pepper seeds: Palanačko Čudo, Župska Rana, and Kobra were monitored in three years (2019–2021). It was noticed that the slightest difference in germination was obtained with the cultivar Palnačko Čudo (p&gt;0.05) in three years. The parish wound had the best germination in 2019 (95%) compared to Palnačko Čudo and Kobra (p&lt;0.05). The germination energy of Župska Rana is significantly higher compared to other selected varieties, 89% (p&lt;0.05). There was a significant decrease in total germination in 2020 compared to 2019 (p&lt;0.05) and amounted to 83%; accordingly, the germination energy decreased. No phytopathogenic fungi were detected in the Župska Rana sample. Total germination and energy decreased significantly compared to the previous two years (p&lt;0.05). During the analysis of quality parameters in 2021, the slightest change in quality was observed in the variety Palanačko Čudo, including germination energy and moisture. A significant decrease in the germination of Župska Rana was noticed during the period 2019–2021. The lowest percentage of phytopathogenic fungi in the three years was detected in Župska Rana.

AB  - Velika divergentost genotipova u okviru gajene vrste Capsicum
annuum L. omogućava neiscrpni proces selekcije u kreiranju novih
hibrida, sorti i linija. U Srbiji postoji mnogo sorti paprike stvorenih za
različite namene, ali mali broj je stvoren procesom selekcije. Cilј našeg
rada je bio da se prikažu ekonomski najznačajnije morfološke osobine
nekih perspektivnih linija Instituta za povrtarstvo u Smederevskoj
Palanci. Od posmatranih 5 genotipova izdvojio se genotip LPK-10/1 kod
kojeg su utvrđene najveće, statistički značajno različite, vrednosti u
odnosu na ostala 4 genotipa. Takođe, genotip LPK-05 se izdvojio visokim
vrednostima za masu ploda, debljinu perikarpa i sadržaj suve materije.
Ispitivani genotipovi su uklјučeni u dalji proces selekcije u cilјu stvaranja
novih sorti i linija paprike pedigre metodom selekcije.
AB  - The great divergence of genotypes within the cultivated species Capsicum annuum L. enables an inexhaustible process of selection in the creation of new hybrids, varieties, and lines. In Serbia, there are many pepper varieties created for different uses, but a small number have been created through a process of selection. The goal of our work was to show the most economically significant morphological traits of some perspective lines of the Institute for vegetable crops in Smederevska Palanka. Of the observed 5 genotypes, the genotype LPK-10/1 was singled out, with the highest, statistically significantly different values compared to the other 4 genotypes. Also, genotype LPK-05 was singled out with high values for fruit mass, pericarp thickness, and dry matter content. The tested genotypes were included in the further selection process in order to create new varieties and pepper lines by the pedigree selection method.

AB  - Krastavac (Cucumis sativus L.) je među najstarijim gajenim
povrtarskim vrstama u zemljama širom sveta. Cilj ovog rada je praćenje
parametra kvaliteta semena u trogodišnjem periodu, ali i uticaja prisustva
fitopatogenih gljiva na ukupnu klijavost. Odabrane su tri sorte krastavca:
Dugi zeleni, Pariski kornišon i Sprinter čiji kvalitet je analiziran u toku
skladištenja, u periodu 2018-2020. godine. Najbolji kvalitet semena
utvrđen je kod sorte Sprinter gde je klijavost >95%, kod kojeg je izostalo
prisustvo fitopatogene gljive Fusarium spp. Najveći procenat Fusarium
spp. detektovan je kod Dugog zelenog, gde je ukupna klijavost bila
smanjena, s obzirom da negativno utiče na ovaj parametar kvaliteta.
Buduća istraživanja će biti fokusirana na primenu biopreparata, kao
potencijalne zaštite semena u toku skladištenja.
AB  - Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is among the oldest cultivated
vegetable species in countries around the world. The aim of this work is
to monitor quality parameters over a three-year period, as well as the
effects of phytopathogenic fungi on overall germination. Three varieties of cucumber were chosen for the study: Dugi zeleni, Pariski kornišon and
Sprinter, whose quality was analyzed during storage, in the period 2018-2020. The best quality was obtained with the Sprinter variety rate of
germination > 95%, where the presence of the phytopathogenic fungus Fusarium spp. was absent, since it negatively affects this quality
parameter. The highest percentage of Fusarium spp. was detected in
Duga Bela, where overall germination was reduced. Future research will be focused on the application of biopreparations, as a potential seed protection during storage.

AB  - Sweet pepper (Capsicum annum L.) is considered one of the most popular vegetables in the
world. During five consecutive years (2017-2021) the most important indicators of seed
quality (seed germination, energy, seed purity and moisture) and health safety were analyzed
in three varieties of peppers (Capsicum annuum L.): Palanačko čudo, Župska rana and Duga
bela. During the research, very high values of all important parameters of seed quality were
determined. The average determined seed purity was 98.6 % with a variation over the years
of examination from 99.10% to 99.9%. Seed germination varied in the range of 73% to 94%,
while the average germination was 86%. Germination energy was in the range of 61% to
88%. Seed moisture data showed that it was in the tolerance range of 6.3% to 7.4% per test
year, with an average value of 6.9%. Alternaria spp and Fusarium spp were detected in
minimal percent or no detection on variety of Palanačko čudo. Duga bela had the highest
percentage of Alternaria spp. in 2020 and 2021, which were 2% and 3%, respectively.
Fusarium spp. was presented in percentage more than in Župska rana and Palanačko čudo.
The total germination of the Palanačko čudo, Župska rana and Duga bela during the observed
five-year period was above the legal level of minimum and can be classified as quality seed.

while the average germination was 86%. Germination energy was in the range of 61% to
88%. Seed moisture data showed that it was in the tolerance range of 6.3% to 7.4% per test
year, with an average value of 6.9%. Alternaria spp and Fusarium spp were detected in
minimal percent or no detection on variety of Palanačko čudo. Duga bela had the highest
percentage of Alternaria spp. in 2020 and 2021, which were 2% and 3%, respectively.
Fusarium spp. was presented in percentage more than in Župska rana and Palanačko čudo.
The total germination of the Palanačko čudo, Župska rana and Duga bela during the observed
five-year period was above the legal level of minimum and can be classified as quality seed.",

AB  - Velika divergentost genotipova u okviru gajene vrste Capsicum annuum L. omogućava neiscrpni proces selekcije u kreiranju novih hibrida, sorti i linija. U Srbiji postoji mnogo sorti paprike stvorenih za različite namene, ali mali broj je stvoren procesom selekcije. Cilј našeg rada je bio da se prikažu ekonomski najznačajnije morfološke osobine nekih perspektivnih linija Instituta za povrtarstvo u Smederevskoj Palanci. Od posmatranih 5 genotipova izdvojio se genotip LPK-10/1 kod kojeg su utvrđene najveće, statistički značajno različite, vrednosti u odnosu na ostala 4 genotipa. Takođe, genotip LPK-05 se izdvojio visokim vrednostima za masu ploda, debljinu perikarpa i sadržaj suve materije. Ispitivani genotipovi su uklјučeni u dalji proces selekcije u cilјu stvaranja novih sorti i linija paprike pedigre metodom selekcije.
AB  - The great divergence of genotypes within the cultivated species Capsicum annuum L. enables an inexhaustible process of selection in the creation of new hybrids, varieties, and lines. In Serbia, there are many pepper varieties created for different uses, but a small number have been created through a process of selection. The goal of our work was to show the most economically significant morphological traits of some perspective lines of the Institute for vegetable crops in Smederevska Palanka. Of the observed 5 genotypes, the genotype LPK-10/1 was singled out, with the highest, statistically significantly different values compared to the other 4 genotypes. Also, genotype LPK-05 was singled out with high values for fruit mass, pericarp thickness, and dry matter content. The tested genotypes were included in the further selection process in order to create new varieties and pepper lines by the pedigree selection method.

AB  - Krastavac (Cucumis sativus L.) je među najstarijim gajenimpovrtarskim vrstama u zemljama širom sveta. Cilj ovog rada je praćenjeparametra kvaliteta semena u trogodišnjem periodu, ali i uticaja prisustvafitopatogenih gljiva na ukupnu klijavost. Odabrane su tri sorte krastavca:Dugi zeleni, Pariski kornišon i Sprinter čiji kvalitet je analiziran u tokuskladištenja, u periodu 2018-2020. godine. Najbolji kvalitet semenautvrđen je kod sorte Sprinter gde je klijavost >95%, kod kojeg je izostaloprisustvo fitopatogene gljive Fusarium spp. Najveći procenat Fusariumspp. detektovan je kod Dugog zelenog, gde je ukupna klijavost bilasmanjena, s obzirom da negativno utiče na ovaj parametar kvaliteta.Buduća istraživanja će biti fokusirana na primenu biopreparata, kaopotencijalne zaštite semena u toku skladištenja.
AB  - Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is among the oldest cultivatedvegetable species in countries around the world. The aim of this work isto monitor quality parameters over a three-year period, as well as theeffects of phytopathogenic fungi on overall germination. Three varieties of cucumber were chosen for the study: Dugi zeleni, Pariski kornišon andSprinter, whose quality was analyzed during storage, in the period 2018-2020. The best quality was obtained with the Sprinter variety rate ofgermination > 95%, where the presence of the phytopathogenic fungus Fusarium spp. was absent, since it negatively affects this qualityparameter. The highest percentage of Fusarium spp. was detected inDuga Bela, where overall germination was reduced. Future research will be focused on the application of biopreparations, as a potential seed protection during storage.

AB  - Carrot (Daucus carota L.) is one of the most important root vegetables in the Apiaceae family
grown around the world. Production of carrots in Serbia is generated in Vojvodina with the
highest yields 27.4 t/ha, while other regions generate lower yields. Current studies on carrots
mainly focus on nutrient content and carotenoid synthesis. Seeds can be infected with
phytopathogens, which can contaminate other seeds or spread the infection to other crops. Out of
the 16% of annual crop losses due to plant diseases, at least 10% are caused by seed-borne
diseases. Changes in the quality of Nantes carrot seeds were monitored for three years (2019-
2021). Total germination was highest in the first year with 92% (2019). In 2020, there was a
significant decrise in total germination of 8%. Accordingly, germination energy was reduced
(p<0.05). A statistically significant difference in total germination was not obtained between
2020 and 2021 (p>0.05). The decrease in total germination from 2019 to 2021 was significant
(p<0.05%). It has been noticed that the infection of Alternaria spp. and Fusarium spp. was the
lowest in 2019 and increased in 2020 and 2021 (4% and 5%, p<0.05), respectively. The results
may indicate an association between the percentage of phytopathogens present and germination.
In conclusion, pathogen-free seeds are necessary to create a healthy plant population, better
germination and higher yields.

Ekstrakt kore nara (Punica granatum L.) kao prirodni antivirusni agens za redukciju humanih norovirusa in vitro

AB  - Humani norovirusi (HuNoV) su dominatni uzročnici epidemija akutnog gastroenteritisa izazvanihkontaminiranom hranom. U cilju njihove redukcije sa površine svežeg povrća i površina koje dolazeu kontakt sa hranom, testirana je antinorovirusna aktivnost 11 ekstrakata lekovitih biljaka. Za daljaistraživanja izabran je ekstrakt kore nara, koji je u koncentraciji 5 mg/mL redukovao broj česticaHuNoV za 99% u fosfatnom puferu, simuliranim gastrointestinalnim fluidima i na površinamasvežeg čeri paradajza i mladog luka, a za 91% u mleku. Matični sok od nara redukovao je HuNoVza 97%. Potencijal ekstrakta kore nara kao prirodnog dezinfekcionog sredstva na površinama odnerđajućeg čelika i plastike je značajan (> 3 log10 GE/μL) i u skladu sa predloženim normama kojese primenjuju za virusna dezinfekciona sredstva. Radi komparacije, testirano dezinfekciono sredstvana bazi hipohlorita (250 ppm) redukovalo je HuNoV na približno istom nivou. Proverena jedezinfekcija površina kontaminiranih mešavinom suspenzija HuNoV i koliformne bakterijeEscherichia coli, primenom brzog ATP bioluminiscentnog testa i RT-qPCR metodom. Sredstvo nabazi hipohlorita bez naknadnog ispiranja, dalo je rezultat koji se našao u zoni upozorenja, dok surezultati nakon ispiranja vodom detektovani u zoni čistog. Broj detektovanog HuNoV nanerđajućem čeliku i plastici, posle sanitacije sa sredstvom na bazi hipohlorita iznosio je 2,2 odnosno2,38 log10 GE/μL. Takođe, pokušano je da se primenom alergen indikator protein testa detektujurazličite koncentracije HuNoV (103- 106 GE/μL) nanete na prethodno sterilisanu površinunerđajućeg čelika. Posle inkubacije na 70ºC/10 min, što povećava senzitivnost testa, najvišatestirana koncentracija virusa dala je pozitivan rezultat.
AB  - Human noroviruses (HuNoV) are the dominant agents of foodborne acute gastroenteritis andepidemic outbreaks. In order to reduce them from the surface of fresh vegetables and food-contactsurfaces, the antinoroviral activity of 11 medicinal plant extracts was tested. For further research,pomegranate peel extract was selected, which at a concentration of 5 mg/mL reduced the number ofHuNoV particles by 99% in phosphate buffer, simulated gastrointestinal fluids and on the surface offresh cherry tomatoes and green onions, and by 91% in milk. Pomegranate juice reduced HuNoV by97%. The potential of pomegranate peel extract as a natural disinfectant on stainless steel andplastic surfaces is significant (> 3 log10 GE/μL) and in accordance with the proposed standardsapplicable to viral disinfectants. For comparison, the tested hypochlorite-based disinfectant (250ppm) reduced HuNoV to approximately the same level. Disinfection of surfaces contaminated witha mixture of suspension of HuNoV and coliform bacteria Escherichia coli was checked, using arapid ATP bioluminescence test and RT-qPCR method. The hypochlorite-based agent withoutsubsequent rinsing gave the result that was in the warning zone, while the results after rinsing withwater were detected in the clean zone. The number of detected noroviruses on stainless steel andplastic, after sanitation with a hypochlorite-based agent was 2,2 and 2,38 log10 GE/μL, respectively.Also, an attempt was made to detect different concentrations of HuNoV (103-106 GE/μL) applied toa previously sterilized stainless steel surface using an allergen indicator protein test. Afterincubation at 70ºC/10 min which increases the sensitivity of the test, the highest tested virusconcentration gave a positive result.

Proverena jedezinfekcija površina kontaminiranih mešavinom suspenzija HuNoV i koliformne bakterijeEscherichia coli, primenom brzog ATP bioluminiscentnog testa i RT-qPCR metodom. Sredstvo nabazi hipohlorita bez naknadnog ispiranja, dalo je rezultat koji se našao u zoni upozorenja, dok surezultati nakon ispiranja vodom detektovani u zoni čistog. Broj detektovanog HuNoV nanerđajućem čeliku i plastici, posle sanitacije sa sredstvom na bazi hipohlorita iznosio je 2,2 odnosno2,38 log10 GE/μL. Takođe, pokušano je da se primenom alergen indikator protein testa detektujurazličite koncentracije HuNoV (103- 106 GE/μL) nanete na prethodno sterilisanu površinunerđajućeg čelika. Posle inkubacije na 70ºC/10 min, što povećava senzitivnost testa, najvišatestirana koncentracija virusa dala je pozitivan rezultat., Human noroviruses (HuNoV) are the dominant agents of foodborne acute gastroenteritis andepidemic outbreaks. In order to reduce them from the surface of fresh vegetables and food-contactsurfaces, the antinoroviral activity of 11 medicinal plant extracts was tested. For further research,pomegranate peel extract was selected, which at a concentration of 5 mg/mL reduced the number ofHuNoV particles by 99% in phosphate buffer, simulated gastrointestinal fluids and on the surface offresh cherry tomatoes and green onions, and by 91% in milk. Pomegranate juice reduced HuNoV by97%. The potential of pomegranate peel extract as a natural disinfectant on stainless steel andplastic surfaces is significant (> 3 log10 GE/μL) and in accordance with the proposed standardsapplicable to viral disinfectants. For comparison, the tested hypochlorite-based disinfectant (250ppm) reduced HuNoV to approximately the same level. Disinfection of surfaces contaminated witha mixture of suspension of HuNoV and coliform bacteria Escherichia coli was checked, using arapid ATP bioluminescence test and RT-qPCR method. The hypochlorite-based agent withoutsubsequent rinsing gave the result that was in the warning zone, while the results after rinsing withwater were detected in the clean zone. The number of detected noroviruses on stainless steel andplastic, after sanitation with a hypochlorite-based agent was 2,2 and 2,38 log10 GE/μL, respectively.Also, an attempt was made to detect different concentrations of HuNoV (103-106 GE/μL) applied toa previously sterilized stainless steel surface using an allergen indicator protein test. Afterincubation at 70ºC/10 min which increases the sensitivity of the test, the highest tested virusconcentration gave a positive result.",

AB  - Human noroviruses (HuNoV) are the dominant cause of viral gastroenteritis in all age groups worldwide. In this study, we investigated the effects of pomegranate peel extract (PPE) on the reduction of HuNoV in different food models, on surfaces of fresh produce (green onion and cherry tomato), in low-fat milk, and simulated gastrointestinal fluids. The antiviral efficacy of PPE against HuNoV was evaluated by quantifying the number of residual virus genomes using a quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) assay. Pomegranate peel, considered as a waste product of industrial processing, is known for beneficial health effects and broad antimicrobial activity due to the high content of phenolic compounds and tannins. PPE showed significant antiviral properties against HuNoV both in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) and simulated gastric fluid. The reduction of HuNoV by pomegranate juice was lower than with PPE, which could be attributed to the lower content of antimicrobial compounds. A pretreatment of cherry tomato and green onion surfaces with PPE significantly reduced the amount of HuNoV particles that adhered to those surfaces during subsequent virus suspension treatment. A detrimental effect of PPE on HuNoV structure was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy. Our results indicate that PPE is a natural antiviral agent effective against food-borne noroviruses.
